All four are automatic purchases for me. I think these are four of the best albums ever made - scarcely a duff track on any of them, and they're phenomenally well-produced as well (of course). This is cause for celebration... Taking Tiger Mountain... was the first Eno album I bought. The True Wheel is one of my favourite songs by anyone. i can't explain why, but I absolutely love it...

Somehow I've managed to never hear this album...that's a pretty severe over-sight on my part, I guess. Why can't I type one sentence tonight without making an atrocious spelling error? I've noticed that about a lot of first time reissues to cd. You know if they would've done it right the first time, we wouldn't have to buy it twice. I can't wait until somebody remasters Prince's back catalog! _____ [This message was edited Fri Jul 2 7:03:38 2004 by sinisterpentatonic]

I have a copy of music for airports on vinyl. Unfortunately it's in very rough shape - I bought it second hand, and the previous owner didn't give it much TLC. Mind you, if I'm in the right mood the pops and hisses actually add to the ambience... I'm pretty sure that music for airports is in print in England - it's one of the many albums I have to buy someday. I wish someone would declare a moratorium on new recordings so I could catch up with all the old albums I have to buy.

They're all great. Well worth getting. You'll hear things on the remasters you don't on the original CDs. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

I had a roommate in college that was into him and Eno has some very chill stuff out.
Along the same lines....check out Wally Badarou. I will do today what you won't, so tomorrow I can do what you can't.

I like Eno´s ambient stuff. Right now I am listening to "Ambient 4 On Land" which is my favorite. I also have "Apollo" and 2 CDs with Eno and Harold Budd.
I have never bought any of his vocal stuff though. His singing is

I bought "Taking Tiger Mountain..." today - this thread gave me the impetus to replace my scratchy old vinyl. I was going to buy "...Warm Jets" as well, but I'd already bought a book and cd earlier in the day (Hernando de Soto and David Sylvian respectively), so I thought it might be wise to lay off.
I'm listening to the David Sylvian album right now, and, I have to say, I wish I'd gone for the second Eno album instead. Ingrid Chavez has a couple of rather lame monologues on the album, and they're about as monumentally cheesy as her work on GB and Lovesexy... Edit - Not only is Ingrid Chavez here, but Tommy Barbarella plays on this David Sylvian album - yeesh to that... However, Marc Ribot, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Bill Frisell all make appearances on this album as well, so that evens things out, I suppose.
