Did anyone shared what was said during "The Next 10 Years: The Vault & Future Plans" panel?

It should have finished half an hour ago

Only thing I've found so far: https://x.com/donnyenglis...5958675885

"The primary takeaway from the vault panel Primary Wave is in bed with Legacy LLC. They sat there and agreed with all of the Trumpian propaganda/defensiveness. Also, there is no specific plan and they are slow rolling releases until they have greater control of the assets."

Arguably even worse than last year's panel - at least they mentioned the ATWIAD reissue and it actually came to fruition last year, even if it was a complete joke. Sounds like they didn't float any noteworthy new possibilities at all this year lol

Sunday. But I fear they could use the "timeless" tracks for it.

On Sunday, and it will be the 'Timeless' album lol

"Timeless will be available digitally, on CD and in multiple vinyl configurations, including a limited-edition Purple Marble
pressing available directly through Prince’s official channels. Meanwhile, fans attending this week’s Prince Celebration in
Minneapolis will get a first crack at the new music. The annual gathering, taking place through Sunday (June 7) across
Paisley Park studio and downtown Minneapolis, will offer listening sessions, archival presentations and discussions with
Prince collaborators centered around the newly unveiled recordings." - Spin

Can you imagine!? I’d be so angry if I’d paid all that money and just got to hear the album early!

Well, maybe some people who are still willing to pay for this will realize that it’s not worth it anymore, and fewer people will attend next year.

Ninety minutes yet no substantial info and instead they talked about the fucking egg building?

.

Did the entire audience consist of sycophants? Did the panel just not allow questions? Am I to believe that none of the people there had anything to say to the panelists about "Timeless"?

Primary Wave have always worried me, seems like a bit of a shadowy organisation that’s going to suck the joy out of the Prince experience.
There may or may not be something coming!

I also read this:

https://x.com/CaseyRain/s...4330931283

I think this a grey scenario. They have not a solid roadmap and it seems they are trying to push different projects in a random way. Last year they talked about a "expanded" version of ATWIAD, that revealed itself to be a remaster of previously realeased music. They talked about a propter version of Parade, and 'still repeat this desire after a year with no release date, tracklist of something. They talked about a new NPGMC, selling music online: nothing happened after a year. They talked about "free the vault" and, after a year, we are gonna have a random set of 10 tracks. Its something, but it is late and it is not enough. And this year they talk about a 3121 box with 'something" inside. What? Dunno. When? Dunno. TBH I'm not against "Timeless" idea, regular releases of vault music. But I fear they are not able to handle something "regular" and - well - 10 songs from the vault for each release is an insult.

They have experience handling estates though.
Same as Graceland who were in charge of pp for a few years.
They should keep these ppl on board.

I find it hard to believe that they would manage to release a 3121 "box set" by the end of this year. Perhaps in Timeless was released at the end of July, buw with the release date at the end of August? When would this box set get released? I cannot imagine Sony/Legacy would put out a second release so short after Timeless. So then perhaps early next year?

.

Isn't it hilarious how the previous regime's releases always made it to "best reissues of the year" lists (and the SOTT SDE was number one in the Mojo and Uncut lists IIRC), yet the new regime's didn't? I very much doubt that Timeless will garner many plaudits.

I really hope there is some unreleased music in the 3121 box set, since we’re not getting much from Timeless. And maybe we’ll finally get the 3121 movie.

.

But the estate and music handlers said nothing that would suggest they wouldn’t continue their strategy of carefully curating when and what the general public will hear.

.

There was some slight grumbling from time to time, which Prince’s attorney, Londell McMillan, treated as if they were hurling insults at his mother.

.

“I’m not scared of y’all,” he said after someone made a perfectly respectable request.

.

McMillan, who dominated the discussion, took pride in the fact that he and his colleagues were so accessible.

.

“How many people wear Nikes?” he said. “Do you know how to get a hold of their CEO and tell him what kind of color shoes you want?”

.

Oh look, now he's talking about his frikking clown shoes.

At first when I read this on another board, I thought it was a joke, then I clicked and read the article and it was real. I'm glad it was reported in a real media outlet.
(self-snip)
There's no point in trying to talk to someone who speaks like this. "Not scared of us"? What? Scared of what? Are we in the hood?
This is completely surreal.

It was far left forthcoming than last year.

Only real new news was around a 3121 release - no further details.

Mainly it was a session where they were telling us their job is hard.

Unfortunatley, the randomness of who got picked to ask questions, meant for the most part, the questions weren't that good either bar one or two.

But still better to have open dialogue session than not IMHO.

The 3121 announcement is so vague though. Can that even be considered news? We don't know what it is or when it's coming. All we know is something related to 3121 will be coming at some point. But didn't they already say that earlier in the year? As far as I can see they didn't actually say anything we didn't already know.

You're right. It would be better to have an open dialogue session. I just wish we actually got one.

Someone on twitter suggested that at least one of the fans picked for Q&A was a plant, and asked the same question at both fan-group panels. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if that were true, or if Londell and Charles went out of their way to avoid calling on attendees who they knew would give more pushback than the others.

So far the whole Celebration thing is a pretty mess from what I read on X and Reddit.
Chaka's concert was a laugh.

Just a very small part of this whole Celebration showed some form of tribute to Prince and his art; the viewing of (only) 1 concert, and the (upcoming?) listening sessions of unreleased material.
-
It feels more like a five-day fair with poorly prepared insights and inconsistent results.

Speeches should be better prepared. Panel discussions that had little of substance. Small focus on the annouced themes. A lot of mist, do they think we forgot what was said last year?

There’s nothing wrong with changing course, but then justify it, or be honest that it’s still not really clear.
Otherwise, the obvious guesswork will only become fierce opposition, with even fewer results.
And what more do we actually know, a year on, about the progress of the digitisation of Vault material?
Have any significant new discoveries been made in there?

Communication, communication...
Who is actually working on that? How many people?

How and when and who?

There’s so much more that could be shared.

Even on a weekly basis. It could keep via the media so much more Prince's legacy alive.
Nothing about any progress on a new documentary?
What’s the latest on the musical?
Reprints of existing albums that are no longer available, etc.

I've been seeing the word "Trumpian" come up in regards to Londell and it has never felt more true than this Celebration. Blaming everyone and everything else for his own fuck-ups, insisting that this event is The Best Ever and everyone is having the time of their lives in spite of many fans sharing that they're underwhelmed in one way or another online, defensively attacking anyone who strays even the tiniest bit away from unconditional praise and fealty. All of this while ripping off fans and attendees with a laughably underwhelming sham of an event.

And of course, the people with the access and opportunity to stand up to Londell and take him to task all just roll over, because they don't want to rock the boat and lose access to that 'inner circle'.

regardless of what they do, the way he seems to conduct himself publically, just does not seem professional. very aspirationally trumpian, which is just plain weird. so much ego. and him saying 'im not scared of yall' seems like a lie. id say he is. cos he knows how bad he looks. but he cant admit that and look like hes addressing any criticism, so he acts like he doesnt care.

If this ‘3121 box with something’ is a dvd/blu-ray of a las Vegas show I will be very happy. Timeles on the other hand I won’t buy, spotify will do.
