Armory Concert reviews

Fair to say that a lot of fans are disagreeing with Jon Bream’s take on last nights concert.

Anyone got any alternative reviews?

Sounds like a fair assessment to me, it's not like Jon trashed the entire event and had nothing positive to say whatsoever. On the flip side, I'm sure some of the people hyping it up are 1) still buzzing from the excitement of being there having not worn off yet, and 2) mentally justifying the amount of money they had to spend to attend this concert in the first place.

Exactly. Jon Bream's review isn't negative;

"The band was terrific. The set list had enough deep tracks to appease the biggest Prince diehards. This is the kind of thing you’d expect as the pinnacle of Prince Celebration 2026."

-

It just points out the things he feels are under expectation, or overdoen, mostly compared to the ExceL Energy Center 6 months earlier.

Why were Dr. Finkk, Wendy and Brownmark, (even Susannah) not there?

Or the other The Time members?

No St. Paul this time as well?

Eric leeds would've been a great guest for panel discussions... Taking really about music...

"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts." (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

Any band without Prince playing guitar and lead vocals is obviously going to sound weak.
They’re great musicians, but it’s always going to be a poor substitute.
What they should have done though was have real, associated singers like Morris (who did well), Sheila E, Paul Peterson, even Larry Graham!
Drag in people like Alicia Keyes, Mavis Staples, George Clinton, Chaka Khan. People who Prince worked with and known to be big fans.
They need to step up their game.
