What is the diff between "Purple" and "Gold" ticket? Looks like teh same bullets just in a different order.

And the GA just doesn't get the guided tour or the VIP lunch?

From what I remember, the only real difference between Purple & Gold were the days of certain events. Also, GA doesn't get to hear the unreleased vault music, because only real fans (aka wealthy enough to cough up $1150-1300) are worthy of that rolleyes

You're right, I looked more closely and one has the tour on friday and the other has the lunch etc.

I might go by myself...... nto sure if it's worth the extra $ for VIP. I mainliy want to see the concerts even though I've seen The Time and The Fmaily multiple times. I've never seen Jesse. I would want to see him do his 1st 2 solo album stuff, not the rock stuff.

I've been to two Cellies as VIP and lemme say this.

The first one of the previous Estate was dope!

However the McMillions version sucked, because it was less about P.

And more about showcasing other artists and non-P related music.

The VIP access to the unrleased music and band session was really amazing.

But why add other things like Social stuff, New Artist schowcase, VIP Gospel brunch.

They could have easily filled these days/hours with more P.

Aren't we there to Celebrate him anyways.

Also they should really rethink these expensive tiers, I get it that is their business model, but let everyone enjoy the unreleased Vault music.

What is the point of hearing "never-before-released" material amongst a crowd of strangers?
Also, just that one time in an environment that absolutly comprimises the sonics of the media?
I am not a "Prince Tourist".
What is their angle, exactly?
From the actual calculated income, it makes no sense at all to tease real fans with:
"...if you pay this much, we'll let you listen to/watch some unreleased media ONCE!!!"

So sad and stupid confused

I agree and people who would be willing to pay for these songs if they were released are left in the dark when the Estate chose to let only those attending the celebration hear them. This madness will only stop when people start ignoring these celebrations.

Thanks. Yeah I reallyk am just interested in the concerts as I've alraady been to Paisley Park and done the VIP tour.

I think if I go I'll do the regular ticket (is the $600 the cheapest one there will be?)

I tried to book the W using their link and the price was no better than I could get as a Marriott member.

INDEED !

This is dumb but it seems enough people are paying big money for this so who's the dumbest here ? Maybe not the Estate.

I think peeps pay for tix, because there are many reasons:

1. meeting P fans from all over the world / Fan Gatherings

2. Vault stuff (which is played in PP studio, with high end sound system)

3. Concerts

4. Prince Parties in and around PP

5. sightseeing MPLS

6. Paisley Park tour

7. etc.

For me it is basically the only thing that is left of P that feels like a concert experience: people coming together from all over the world and dancing to P music.

I have met P fans, from the US, who are now friends for life.

This to me is priceless.

I would have never met them if I was stuck in this prince.org bubble.

And yes I also think the tix are overpriced and Vault music should be released to all fans.

Do they release the times/dates of the ocncerts? I'm thinking of going by myself prob the GA ticket as I dont need to just hear some vault tracks 1 time for another $500.

.

.

But I would like to do the other hangouts and go to see 3 acts listed.

Yes, they will release the exact date/tme of the concerts at a later date.

Last year they also sold single concert tix, not sure if they will do that this year.

Maybe they will wait untill all the vip/regular tix are sold out.

BTW: near PP is a bridge "Riley Creek" is also worth a visit.

There is this long fence where peeps attach their memorials etc.

When I visited there was also a party with a DJ and huge speakers blasting P music headbang

People seem to have forgotten about Vault Series Vol. 1 from 2023

.

We haven't forgotten about that laughable display of incompetence, not about the release of the three digital B-Sides which again were handled incompetently.

.

Nor have we forgotten about the fanfare they made about the vault being open two months ago while failing to release a single thing since then. Competent people would have a couple of freebies and/or limited physical releases ready for release, but Spicey and Lonnie are still stumbling in the dark, looking for pocket change in couch cushions.

.

Meanwhile Cherry Red Records have announced a 6CD box set of the band After The Fire, a 6CD box set of The Fall's 1994 album Middle Class Revolt, a 12CD Dionne Warwick box set, a 4CD box set of the band Skin Alley, and an 8CD box set of Swing Out Sister's albums from 1994-2004 (including B-Sides, mixes and remixes and rare tracks from that era, plus some of the albums have been remastered). Yet I'm supposed to believe that Prince music cannot make a profit from physical releases.

.

Peter Gabriel has a subscriber-only service on BandCamp where he is releasing demos etc. I doubt he's doing that for shits & giggles, so that must be making him money. The Prince estate could have done similar, but instead they're too busy to incompetently screen concert videos at Celebrations, or to hold dance contests while playing previously unheard outtakes. Betcha people who've paid hundreds of dollars for those events looooooooved that.

Prince fans are the opposite, all about elite status, pecking order, troo fan dividers, hoarding, etc.

I don't wanna boycot anything, this is fun! biggrin

This is better than past Celebration '24. wink

This is humour.

This is controversy!

This is 'outraaaaaaageous,' like Lionel should say. biggrin

This is it!, like M.... whatever.

I could not agree more.

Rich Prince tourists, "Rich Friends!"

Better just rich folks who only know the song Purple Rain, or Kiss.

Maybe they take their kids with 'm. Youngsters can learn something, then go back to doomscrollin'.

Interesting that none of the three early bird ticket options have sold out after a week on sale.

Last year, the early bird tickets were sold out in about 48 hours.

Can't say I'm surprised. Between the looming recession and the diminishing returns on what the estate actually offers for the money, I doubt anyone is excited about this except for the usual "elite" asskissers.

Exactly, with McMillions in charge it is less about celebrating P and more about other nonsense and new artists.

I haven't been for over 20 years, and I'm interested in going.

.

A thought I had - the old Celebrations were partly about showcasing new artists. I discovered plenty of new music this way. The whole nature of the Celebration naturally has to change without P being there himself, but the acts can't forever be his proteges and those associated with him - it will die a slow death that way (although, as it will be my first visit for so long, those acts are exactly the ones I would want this time!).

I’m hoping that the people at the fan panel about the vault actually ask some good questions and discuss some creative ways to move forward with releases.

Like I would ever top going to see Prince in Oakland and then shortly after that, finally seeing him at (a small club!) the Fillmore in 2014 in San Francisco with my son for two back to back concerts... I missed out in decades past but those shows in San Francisco were special and I knew it. So did my son.Going to a celebration at Paisley Park without Prince would be equal to visiting my family's funeral plots. No comparison.

I wouldn’t hold out much hope for the future plans panel.
I’m sure they have a lot of thoughts about what they’d like to release, in theory, but there’s a lot of issues to resolve to make it happen.

That’s partly what I mean.
They have to have agreement with the record companies, etc, but if they can never agree on anything then no releases.

They are the same events just at different times because they can't all fit. Never liked this format because if you're going to Celebration with friends you are separated almost the entire time except for the block party or launch party.

I'm surprised LM hasn't 'tsaid tickets were sold out for pre-sales cause they be announcing stuff prematurely to make it seem like we should all get tix post pre-sale...to drive it up.

After last year's celebration they sent a schedule of the stuff each month leading up to this year's celebration which was promising cause we allways wanted to know so we can plan accordingly (hated obvi because of calling it PR 2.0...but that schedule they did not follow...and you notice they are not really calling PR 2.0 anymore after backlash now they are including ATWIAD.

It is really is a sheet show.
