The Evolsidog version heard here is said to be from january 86
Thanks for the info. I think I like the version with the New Position chimes in it better, but it’s such a killer track. It seems the word “Fun” was theme around this time, considering Fun Love, “fun is only fun,” “We had fun, didn’t we?” The orger formerly known as Schlomo. |

It's quite obvious what auction that is, and who that person is...just open Facebook...
When I listened to these clips I try to focus on the music and tune out the autioneer, so I've not listened close enough to pick up the clues. And I don't have a Facebook account, so I can't search on that site. But based on a comment I saw earlier in this thread, I assume the items being auctioned offed belonged to Brownmark? The auctioneer was acting as his agent?

I wonder if this alternative version of Daddy Pop will appear on the D&P SDE? I like it better than the album version.

Do u see any confirmation or any solid info that can expect us to see a such release in the near future...no way....The Estate is so silencious since months & months and if a release in despite of any hopes appears...not even sure to see this alternate on the album !!
The new girls & boys behind the new Estate was against the so much releases from the vault...i have poor expectations & low wishes with the new Estate !! |

all this talk about the auctioneer, it's not gonna get us the songs. he's been around a while and probably just has some stuff from trading that never saw wider circulation. easy as pie.
anyway. give me FUN LOVE. |

The point of @dodger07's post was the Estate is screwing up and should be doing more. In other words, he was basically saying that same thing you're saying.
Unfortunatley, you misinterpreted his post to be a defense of the Estate. You thought your reply was contradicting him, but in fact it was agreeing with him (at least in general).
Your confusion appears to stem from the fact that dodger07's post included a concession that some of these issues may be slightly more complicated than we as fans appreciate. But his point was that even if you give the Estate the benefit of the doubt, that still does not fully excuse the lack of new material being published. Yet, you misinterpreted his words to mean the exact opposite: you though he was justifying the lack of new material.

Fun Love is cool. And How is super fun, not what I expected after listening to Jevetta's version all these years. I don't care too much for this mix of Evolsidog. It's nice to hear more of the song, but the mix previewed at the UTCM screening at Paisley was nicer. Cool stuff. Screaming. Panting. Making Noise. |

So is ‘And How’ the 86 or 90 version? If I had to guess I’d say 86, but sometimes I’m not great at guessing the years… Also Daddy Pop sounds like the Diamonds and Pearls: Beginnings version to me, but with the auctioneer over the top of everything it can be hard to tell, clearly Rosie’s doing her thang. 🍢 |

And How sounded very Parade-esque to me, so I assumed it was the '86 version.
At first I thought Dadday Pop sounded different from the version on Beginnings, but after I re-listened to it I wasn't so sure. Now I think they might be the same.

Yeah, this have really stirred me desire for some new stuff. Particularly mid 80's Stuff. I pulled out my pseudo 86 album I put together the day Cosmic Day got released and I really want to add Evolsidog and Fun Love to it. Something BIG Is Coming. |

Daddy Pop sounds different to me than the one on Beginnings. Comparing the two of them. I believe they are different in a few ways. The most obvious in my mind is the "deep purple concord jams" bit. In the Beginnings mix it's sang in the background in a higher register Whereas in this mix it's sang quite low and is very apparent in the mix. Some of Rosie's stuff sounds different, but who knows. That poor auctioneer's grating voice isn't helping me figure anything out... Screaming. Panting. Making Noise. |

Aren't there tools/software to get rid of the auctioneer's voice?
I'm certainly no expert at all, and i'm not even going to try or search.
But someone told me this is possible... anyone? "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972) |

This should work. I've used those tools to remove interviews that were on top of rare or unreleased songs for other artists. Once I find these snippets I'll give it a try. |

...it seems to me that Prince had the most FUN with Jerome Benton at the time. Boys being boys, fun for funs sake, on and off stage and in the movie.
And a good year later there was Wally Saffort for a while too... "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972) |

I tried 2 different AI programs and unfortunately while the process does remove the auctioneer, it also removed Prince's vocals along with it. It might have worked better if the recordings weren't open air as the music dops down in quality during the sections the voice is removed and I don't think anyone wants to hear a vocal only duet version of "Fun Love" between Prince and some random guy.
I don't think I'll listen to these too much because when they do eventually come out (leaked or released), I don't want to have that guy's voice ingrained in memory that I'll start spouting off things about '1999' or Paisley Park cassettes. |
