I laughed when I read the very last line of this article:

"Whether we’ll ever get to hear these songs remains to be seen, but with the reissues and releases of previously unheard material coming thick and fast since Prince’s death, it’s certainly a possibility."

Reissues and releases coming "thick and fast" since Prince's death? Really? Could have fooled me.

That's a an odd question. Nothing I wrote suggests I expected monthly releases. What gave you that the idea? Are you reading something into my words that isn't there, or are you consciously exaggerating my words?

Bottom line, I expected more releases than we've gotten. Simple as that. That doesn't mean I expected monthly releases. Clearly there is a middle ground between one release this year (W2A) and monkthly / twelves releeases this year. (I don't count the re-re-release of the 1984 concert.)

Btw W2A came out last year. The 84 show is the only new release this year. And then of course a buffet of reissues like the excellent pressing of TGE.

Honestly the RSD promo reissue of TGE is really bad and cheap with al the mistakes and ommisions on it.
I'm glad I have the original '95 version without the typos and with the runout etching intact on it.

Oh yeah, W2A was last year... time moves too quickly.

I don't count the re-issues that are merely putting the orginial versions back into circultation without any sort of value added, such as remastering or bonus tracks.

Don't get me wrong: I think it's great that they're putting those old albums back in circulation. But if we're talking about the Estate issuing new stuff, those don't count.

It's ridiculous that they would re issue certain albums without remastering them.

.

Is that such a weird expectation? There's a limited set of people interested in Prince releases. Most people have a monthly paycheck..

.

Actually, I was expecting a new version of the NPG music club, with one or two fan releases per year, plus a yearly all-out release super deluxe set.

.

And... yes, a monthly streaming track. Be it a demo, alternate version, live version, cover... whatever. But yes, at least something monthly.

Well, I was reading the article and then the one guy on the video started talking about vox this and amp that and then I decided I didn't like technical details unless I am forced to have to know what they are called.
