And as long as the releases keep coming, what does it matter which aspect of his recordings they put their focus on for the time being?

Things change, those in control are replaced continuously. Either through business structures changing or simply through the passage of time.

The only thing that would be very bad for us is if they stopped releasing new music entirely.

But to the topic at hand. I'd rather have another SDE as long as it is extensive and includes many,
many unreleased tracks.

As far as Originals goes, I don't want volume after volume with 5 years inbetween. I'd rather they put everything they can on one big multi disc set.

Look at the pretty amazing tunes that were left off the SIGN SDE. If they don't intend to include those 'tracks for others/originals' on the somewhat corresponding SDE's, they should put them all out at the same time as one big ass boxed set.

even if they would just release 'god music', that would probably still include 80% of everything
he recorded and stored away between 99 and 2009.

i wouldn't mind if they concentrate on that period for a while until there is another change of the
guards and they go back to the 80s and 90s.

that's the thing with prince, there's stacks of songs to be unearthed from each period.
