Michael Howe was in charge of organizing and digitizing all the music from the vault and other sources, as well as digitizing ephemera (paper, photography, etc). Maybe that part of the work is done? I don't know why he'd be out.

I hate to see a gigantic corporation (Primary Wave) take charge; Comerica was acting AS Prince (that's what a Personal Representative does) and I think they've done well.

McMillan doesn't have a big share, just some of the two older sisters' expectancies in exchange for paying their court costs. We have to remember that someone being fired by Prince doesn't necessarily mean they're a bad person. He fired or let go of everyone, at some point. I know many don't like him and there are some business reasons why but he did good favors for Prince while employed (like getting him out of that WB contract).

I am most disappointed in Tyka, Omarr and the late Alfred for selling off *everything* they were going to receive. I hope that means they have decent plans to actually reinvest in Paisley. Tyka's son Pres is working there and seems to be a good guy.

I hope putting Paisley Park into its own LLC, with the warehouse part of that company, means it will be able to operate independently.
Remember when Priscilla Presley (and her daughter) sold off everything that Elvis owned, EXCPT for Graceland itself and its contents? I'm wondering if that's the plan here.
Paisley needs to support itself and it can, with support from the fam. There was no mortgage. It requires employees, utilities and maintenance. Paisley Park was the only personal home Prince everowned that he didn't destroy. It was his pride and joy.

There is no "new estate". It's the same estate that has existed since the court first assigned Bremer and now Comerica to represent Prince.

What's in place now seems to be working towards dispersing the assets. Training those who will take over, etc. The high-priced people may have done their jobs and are leaving as part of the upcoming transition.

When the transition to the heirs and PW takes place, then we'll see how things change.

What does the latest paper from courts mean (“Satisfaction of Attorneys Lien”)?

“Hansen Dordell’s attorney’s lien upon Sharon Nelson, Norinne Nelson and John R. Nelson’s interests in the Estate of Prince Rogers Nelson pursuant to Minnesota Statutes §§ 481.13 and 525.491, notice of which we filed with this Court by Notice of Attorney Lien dated January 9, 2019, is hereby released.”

I’m not up with legal terminology but does it mean they’ve paid for all the legal work done by this firm? Do they have another representative (e.g. L Londell McMillan)?

Did I miss something? Why is Comerica suing Tyka? Looks like they have a court date set for 7/29 and the local media was granted access.

Announcement: 1:30pm Central Time, Friday, July 29th, 2022.

The court has approved WCCO television to record and/or broadcast the "final disbursement hearing of the Prince Estate". Along with the television folks, Tyka Nelson was listed as applicant.

I do not know if the coverage will be live online or what, but it might not hurt to check. Correct the time for your time zone, of course. From the estate website:

Ah, that makes sense now, since one of the latest documents shows “Comerica (plaintiff) versus Tyka Neson et al (defendant) - the “et al” I missed initially. Thanks Laytonian, will be worth a watch.

Yes. Comerica can't leave without a judge's ruling so it's filed as a lawsuit -- and maybe Comerica doesn't want to leave LOL.
I think they've done a great job.

I think the music will be well cared for.

I am concerned where Paisley Park LLC will end up. It consists of the building, his personal effects, and the nearby warehouse. It may also include the Newton property, the Purple Rain house and the property across the street for Paisley.

I am hoping that Tyka (and Omarr?) received enough money from selling to PW that they can buy out the remaining heirs' interests in Paisley Park LLC. That should stay within the family.

I have one hope that it may actually happen: Tyka's son Pres seems to have a management position/oversight of Paisley Park. He seems like a well-grounded guy.

I'll be checking the WCCO website; they were good about keeping the video of Prince at age 11 online. I'll post whatever is said, if it's not to legalese stuff wink

I was unable to watch. I checked the WCCO news site and see nothing. Maybe they filmed it for broadcast later, rather than "live".

We can all look at the Star Tribune and St Paul Pioneer Press; I'm sure they'll summarize.

“ After taxes and other liabilities, court documents show about $104.8 million was available for distribution as of January.”

With the estate dispute now over, long-delayed projects focused on Prince and his legacy can now proceed. Control over four of the musician's businesses will be split between Primary Wave and his family heirs.
"Our goal is to work collaboratively with them to continue to build and to grow Prince's legacy as a 50% owner," said Primary Wave's attorney, Eric Magnuson.

Now we know why Michael Howe (who was digitizing and orgganizing everything) was let go. Rather than the safe, secure environment of Iron Mountain, let's bring all those tapes and pieces of paper to humid Minnesota.
The elders and PW will have a gigantic, costly fight on their hands. People who BARELY KNEW Prince are now making decisions.

The "second book" sounds like the rest of the pages that were initially rumored.

Here's a description of how things are divided.

Letting Michael go, and returning The Vault to Paisley is not a good sign of things to come.

Agreed. There's a lot of people out there who seem to think that the elders keeping their share rather than selling out is a good thing. lol lol I'm doubtful.

And now it begins. cool

"We are free at last, thank God almighty, we are free," said Sharon Nelson, Prince's sister. "It's been a long, long grueling six years."

"What's the most important thing that you think about when you think of Prince? The music, absolutely, and where is it? It isn't here," Nelson said. "So were going to bring it back, that's what we're going to do."

Personally I thought the first book was a waste of Money.

Why on earth release another one.

Two years ago things we looking hopeful for acsteady stream of Vault releases. As of now the outlook is very, very bleak

More than a year without any Vault release and now we have to wait for the Vault to be moved back to Paisley Park confused

God knows how long it will take but i guess it will take several months at least. Besides, Iron Mountain is a better and safer place for it.

This is a nightmare.

It means nothing. Just words. As usual from them.

Unless it means that Cosmic Day, Wally and all the other songs released by Comerica were shit lol lol

I was actually shocked that Mattie's kids were the ones to sell out (OAT Holdings) rather than the elderly folks (John's children with Vivian). So strange.

Seriously? I thought his writings were intelligent and revealing. Seeing his "scrapbook" photos, and what was missing (Owen Husney photos) said a lot.
Maybe you should re-read it?
Maybe you didn't get to his actual writings, halfway through the book?
