You're talking about the rehearsals 84'. Right?

By the way, I hope that the Estate will release (Parade SDE?) the Detroit birthday gig as wished by Wendy & Lisa...

I posted Housequake's graphic on twitter and added, "It's #PrinceDay. On June 7, 1958, the greatest & most prolific musician was born - @prince Rogers Nelson. Raised in the midwest, he conquered the world b4 most of us figured our lives out at all. His music lives 4ever. #Prince4ever."

OF COURSE a Kevin pops up, "Dude didn't celebrate birthdays. Try reading about legends before posting."

Bitch, sit the everlivingfuck down. I never mentioned birthdays. He did.

It's why Prince fans can't have nice things. There's always someone in the bunch who thinks they know better on all point. They're the biggest Prince fan. They know more. They'd win with all trivia contests. They have every thing every released on all formats. Blah blah blah.

Gatdayum, can't we just celebrate when we actually got the guy in the world. Can't we just celebrate that we happened to be here within the 57 years of his life to enjoy the music as it happened, to see him perform, to hear him speak, to enjoy his talent? Nope, gotta whip our dicks out and measure; see who can piss further into the wind.

I miss ol' boy, a lot. The upside is all the great stuff that the estate has released and continues to do so. For them to get Paisley Park up and running so quickly as a museum, make upgrades, expand merchandising, and more shows success. Because - pay attention - they're still here. It's still operating, and it's still making money. Not necessarily that Duran Duran money, but it's paying the bills.

So while he's gone, his music and his legacy will live until the end of time. We truly adore him.

When HE didn't celebrate his birthday, he actually ENJOYED when others mentioned it to him.

Some Kevins do not know the meaning of "nuance". Just block 'em. (I think I answered that twit over there -- or one just like it.)

I blocked him. It was just about an hour ago or so. It was someone else who RT'd my tweet, and tagged that yahoo in it. Then Bob the Prince Fan or whatever decided get on his purple soapbox and become a Jehovah's Witness in front of everyone. Gurl, bye.

We will never agree on what are his best songs. Or how relevant most of his legacy is. There are few bigger Prince fans than myself. But like pretty much everyone on here I like to carp and whine. Only perhaps databank and a few other orgers give him a free pass and think everything that came out of his ass was a golden egg. Nah, just kidding. But jeeez. The negativity on here, the pointless trolling, the self-satisfied smug remarks. This is why we can't have nice things and why I'm resolved to one day having a chill in that very special place in Chanhassen known as Paisley Park, with a particular interest in that one part - in real need of a makeover incidentally - the 'egg' building. The place where Carmen Electra is rumored to have been cryogenically frozen at Prince's request. He was going to unfreeze her, mind, but forgot around the same time he forgot the combo to the vault. Now just imagine, if Prince had lived to 100 years old. We wouldn't have nice things like the archive releases. We would have to make do, instead, with sketchy vinyl, or laserdisc, MP3 bootlegs even, of that infamous Coke rush, the Syracuse '85 concert. Endless arguments about who came up with the purple rain chords, wendy or prince? All due to a dearth of new material. How many Hit n Run albums can you have before it gets silly? Jaws got silly at 4. The fan base becoming ever more supine, as Prince rests on his laurels and releases another remaster of Purple Rain the album, this one so brickwalled to fuck, it busts your amp and your speakers. Haha. Does feel good to talk shit sometimes when so many other people are too. Anyone else notice the nonsense remarks of late and mods pretending to be asleep... lol

The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

The BET Soul Channel aired five hours of Prince videos and live performances yesterday. Nothing we haven't already seen but it was nice for them to remember him. MTV and VH1 did Zilch.

Hello, friends! I haven’t been on in a while, and I’m a day late, but June 7th always brings up a lot of feelings. I only have a handful of friends on social media who post things for Prince Day, so it’s fun to come here and see what y’all are up to. 8-)

I started the day yesterday by listening to “Dolphin”, my favorite song, then I had the overly ambitious idea to immortalize my Prince t-shirt collection in a fun little video. Well, it took a lot longer than I thought to shoot, edit, and upload said video, but I’m glad that I did it! I’ve been collecting Prince shirts for over 20 years, purchased at concerts, eBay, and from Prince’s website. I modeled as many as I could, and held up the ones that don’t fit, or that I want to keep in unworn condition. The background music is my own composition, as I didn’t want to get nailed by the Prince police, haha! Here’s the YouTube link, if you’d like to see it. Which shirt is your favorite?

Yeah I saw that!
I only caught the last hour of it though
I saw the videos from "Love Sign" all the way through "fury"
They skipped the videos for come on and the one but to my surprise they showed the video for "u make my sunshine " and it was crystal clear
Before then I had only seen the video in a low quality internet video

They actually skipped a LOT of videos. (I made a list of what they aired.) I was surprised to see they aired two performances from the 1990 Tokyo show (When Doves Cry and Alphabet Street. Funny thing is, when BET aired the block again, they removed the live "Alphabet Street" clip).

I agree, it was nice to see the "U Make My Sunshine" video in great quality.

I was also surprised BET showed the '87 MTV Awards performance of "Sign O' The Times" but they did not include "Play In The Sunshine" that originally followed it.

Sure thing. It's below. I decided to transfer everything to two DVDs even tho I have most of it already. It will be nice to have it all on a few discs.
BET obviously did not play a lot of his videos and even clipped the ends on a few too.
They aired a few things out of order too but I assembled everything correctly when I transferred them to disc.

Disc 1:
1. I Wanna Be Your Lover (Solo Version)
2. Uptown
3. Dirty Mind
4. Controversy
5. Sexuality
6. 1999
7. Little Red Corvette
8. Let's Pretend We're Married
9. When Doves Cry (Album Version)
10. Let's Go Crazy ("Purple Rain" clips)
11. I Would Die For You/Baby I'm A Star (Live in Maryland, 11/20/84- 17 minutes)
12. Take Me With U (Live Promo from Houston Concert, 1/85)
13. Raspberry Beret
14. America (Live Promo, Nice, France 10/27/85) (BET clipped off the last three and a half minutes of this 10 minute video)
15. Girls And Boys
16. Kiss
17. Mountains
18. Anotherloverholenyohead (Live at Cobo Hall- Detroit 28th Birthday Concert 6/7/86)
19. Sign O' The Times (Live at MTV Awards 9/11/87) (BET didn't air the "Play In The Sunshine" performance that originally followed SOTT)
20. U Got The Look (f/Sheena Easton)
21. I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man (Live performance from "Sign O' The Times" concert film, 1987)
22. Alphabet Street
23. Glam Slam (BET clipped off last 5 seconds)
24. I Wish U Heaven
25. Bat Dance
26. Party Man
27. Scandalous
28. When Doves Cry (Live In Tokyo- Nude Tour, 1990)

Disc 2:
1. Alphabet Street (Live In Tokyo- Nude Tour, 1990) (Interestingly, BET didn't show this one again in the repeat airings)
2. Thieves In The Temple (BET clipped off last 10 seconds)
3. New Power Generation
4. Gett Off
5. Cream (w/full intro)
6. Diamonds & Pearls
7. Insatiable
8. Money Don't Matter Tonight (Version 3)
9. Sexy MF (Clean Version)
10. My Name Is Prince
11. 7
12. Damn U
13. The Morning Papers
14. The Most Beautiful Girl In The World
15. Love Sign (f/Nona Gaye) (w/full intro)
16. Gold
17. Dinner With Delores
18. Betcha By Golly Wow
19. Somebody's Somebody
20. The Holy River
21. The Greatest Romance Ever Sold
22. U Make My Sunshine (f/Angie Stone)
23. Musicology
24. Call My Name
25. Te Amo Corazon
26. Black Sweat
27. Fury

I left off "Breakfast Can Wait" since Prince wasn't in the video and it didn't fit. Everything else aired made it on to the 2 discs.
