Question on Blanche

As I have no 'musical' ears, at least some believe this to be so, I was wondering:

How many guitars (bass or 'normal') do we hear on Blanche as provided on the SOTT SDE thing?

Maybe you can answer this one?

Funny when someone wants to discuss his music there are seldomly any relevant comments.

Yes, that might be a sign of the times.

.

I think I hear more guitars but I will listen again.

It is hard to distringuish between different sounds of teh same guitar and different guitars.

I geuss that is my limitation here.

Maybe because most fans interested in these things have found better places with more knowledgeable poeple for good serious discussions about these things than here. shrug

Yeah like Steve Hoffman Forums. Lots of people just run their mouths with no receipts and yell at other fams here.

I have Duane Tudahls book and it states:

Blanche is an infectious bass/live guitar/drums/keyboard groove. It did not quite state what the multi tracks are exactly like some of his great descriptions.

It sounds like three guitars and a bass.

The main riff being played by one. The rhythm is then played by two, with slight differences.

The song has one bass, though not a bass guitar. If you listen near the end you can hear that the bass is pretty cleary the Fairlight sampled bass being played on a keyboard. Similar if not the same sound as the bass on the track SOTT. There's one guitar playing in the style of "Shy", and another guitar playing chords. There is another guitar playing some solo type stuff near the end. One vocal. Very strange mix on that one.

Yeah, the only time I think I have ever heard him just use one channel for drums and guitars on a another...vocals in the center. Might make an interesting mono mix if anyone dares.

It seems like there are two guitars and a bass in most of the song. Like somebody said, one of them playing something that reminds me of ´Shy´ guitar riff and the other, more busy.

There is a time where a third guitar enters, playing something in the higher notes.

And, closer to the end, it seems that, for some time, there is only one guitar (and bass, course) doing something different, but then it seems that another guitar joins too.

weird that this song was included when "Extra Lovable" and "Lust U Always" were excluded? I think the Slur in "Blanche" is as least as bad if not worst than the word in those 2.

Severe eyeroll. All they had to do was leave that midsection out vocally and have it come back when he starts screaming...easy. Put a "[2019 Edit]" on there and there ya go.
