Not to mention that some of his best bass moments were live. Like on the 2011 Bass Medley at Stade de France or the Bass Medley at Le Bataclan, 2002. There is one where he played some cool slap bass over a James Brown groove in one of those 2007 concerts, but I need more details.

I REALLY want to hear those isolated instruments on Alphabet St. As you probably already knew Morris Hayes talked about that on The Peach and Black Podcast. And he still claimed that it was an mind boggling experience just listening to the instruments. THAT is something for the estate to give us hardcore fans. Morris knows.

Even though he was more of a singer/songwriter/producer, Rick James played different instruments on his albums. He may not have been as proficient as the others mentioned, but he knew enough to write his own songs.

But it's a whole new level of awesomeness if you are proficient on each of them. Well, Prince was one of those guys. Besides his impeccable vocal skills and wicked guitar playing, Prince mastered bass, drums, and keyboards.

I think Flavor Flav hated Prince because Prince dissed him at some after concert thing a while back, but then later in the 2000's he had a good experience meeting Prince, and thought he was cool after that. And when Prince died, Flav was comforting and very sweet to my friend (the prince fanatic) when she saw him after some concert.
