I love hearing the stories about what hooked in younger fans and some of the more obscure/lesser liked albums that did the trick that gardcore fans write off. Suprised it's not more due to seeing Prince perform on TV (Super Bowl, R&RHoF, etc.)

I know a few casual/disentersted types that said "OK, now i want to see him live" after some of his more high profile TV appearances. Even back in the day, more than one naysayer I knew changed their tune after seeing him on Arsenio Hall and such.

FTR, I'm 54 and have been on board since the 1999 album and MTV.

- Wow, a young fan in Brazil. It´s pretty rare to see Prince fans here (from any age).

paraded

I'm 33 and have been a huge Prince fan since I was 21. 12 years that have been immeasurably better with his music in my life.

I think if I'm making this "unofficial" claim. I was the youngest one to join the Org, Princefams also back in the day. I believe I joined it when I was 12 years old, and people hated me here hahah I posted so much cause I was so young. I got banned as a kid. Under my old name GLAMSLAM lol

Jumped on the boat in 1983 at 12 years of age (much to my parents' dismay).

I'm 50 today, and still fully on board with P.... Love/miss both him and his craziness.

Joining the forums/fan pages the past few years I was genuinely suprised so many people do not like Come! It is one of my favorites, I heard it before I knew of its controversial reputation amongst hardcore fans online

I’m 42. I was only 4 when Purple Rain was a thing. I have very early memories of being into MTV & VH1 but my earliest Prince memories was from Batdance in 89. I was more into the 90s stuff & was hooked with the 7 video. I like the 80s stuff but it didn’t resonate as much with me.

Interesting. I am 47 and in the 80s, I basically listened to hard rock / metal (Whitesnake, Van Halen, Ozzy, Dio, etc). I only became a fan in 93. I know his greatest albums were from the 80s, and most of my fave songs too. But my fave era is the 91-95. Never been a fan of the Revolution, like most fans.
