One of his worst albums in my opinion. A man of his musical ability (not to mention age) should have been embarrassed putting out an album like 20Ten. And perhaps he was. Which would explain why he completely abandoned any plans for a "deluxe" version. For me, it ranks down there among Phase One and The Love Symbol albums as his "top 3" worst albums (not including ridiculous releases like N.E.W.S. and Kamasutra). But as with even the worst of his work, there are one or two moments of good among all the bad. Future Soul Song and Sticky Like Glue are the obvious standouts. Add those two songs to Welcome 2 America in place of Running Game and Stand Up And B Strong and then you've got an album worthy of the artist. But as it is, it's hard to think of 20Ten as anything other than a complete disaster. [Edited 10/2/21 3:52am]

disbelief

The reason the plan was abandoned is because 20T3N DELUXE(whom was one of Prince's(r.i.p.) TOP post 2000 releases) was taken to WBR for a planned new deal that fell apart. .

NOT because of your VERY negative opinion review of the classic GROUNDBREAKING newspaper release.

I get that your "gimmick" is to brand things a masterpiece and just generally act like a desperate fool but would you care to explain what was so groundbreaking about 20Ten? There's nothing groundbreaking about releasing a CD with a newspaper. If anything, it just devalued the whole project.

I politely disagree

That's cool. I've said it before that Prince's music is so diverse that you can never get his fans to agree on anything lol . Some fans only care for the 80's stuff. Some like his attempt at rap. Some will only listen to his rock songs. Diverse music leads to diverse fanbase leads to differing opinions.

YES IT WAS!

Prince(r.i.p.) @ the time was innovative for coming up with unique ways to release his EVER abundant stash of unreleased albums from his vault.

Plus the built in publicity of it sent people to the news stands in DROVES to cop & listen to another classic release of his. That sound was reminiscent of my favorite Prince(r.i.p.) album 1999.

It's really sad that the US public didn't get a chance to hear it @ the time despite your pathetic( rolleyes ) untrue review of it.

Maybe one day The Estate will release 20T3N and it will be a ANOTHER hit album debuting @ the TOP of the charts for Prince(r.i.p.) just like the classic Welcome2America album.

"That mountain top situation is not really what it's all cracked up 2 B when eye was doing the Purple Rain tour eye had a lot of people who eye knew eye'll never c again @ the concerts.just screamin n places they thought they was suppose 2 scream."prince

It sounded dated at the time so I doubt it would be a hit now. Though it would at least be better than anything else in the charts these days, I'll give you that.

Though the fact that you would compare 20Ten to 1999 proves that you are a troll and should not be taken seriously. I know we all have our own opinions on what's good and bad but that's a step too far. 1999 is an all time classic. 20Ten, even to people who like it, is not even in the same league.

I love that people still talk to KCOOLMUZIQ as if he isn't legitimately insane, lol.

This guy alleges to have secret dealings with everyone in Prince's camp, past and current. Always mentions prince being dead in every instance. Every album is a masterpiece, etc. He's been known to be this unhinged for years and, like Bart, should just be thought of as part of the scenery rather than someone who can meaningfully interact.

20T3N is the album that actually made Jester "Jesse" a lifelong fan of Prince(r.i.p.).

That Prince(r.i.p.) later christened him into his purple kingdom.

I really could care less what U or anyone thinks or calls me. I will continue to be me & do what I do...

Who the fuck is Jester Jesse and why should I care about what made him a fan?

I think you meant to say that you couldN'T care less but I get the point. And even though I don't plan on responding to you again I hope you do continue to "do what you do" because we all have great fun reading your posts lol

Oh my God, is he still around? I remember Prince could have recorded himself farting into a microphone and he would think it was a "masterpiece". He did so much ass kissing, I was starting to wonder if he was Prince himself trying to defend his stuff. And when he disappeared after Prince died, I was really starting to wonder. lol

Andy is a four letter word.

I feel the same way. He brings so much to the table that a consensus is nealry impossible.
