Best non 80s concerts Hey ya’ll. I’ve been stuck in 80’s world wayyy too long. I gotta branch out. I love Skippers soundboards and films of his concerts. What are your favorite concerts from the 90’s-2016 that I can watch and listen to?

One from 92 if you can get your hands on it
Prince & The NPG Live Diamonds & Pearls Tour London, Earls Court - 24 June 1992 "Prince don't know how many hits he got"

A couple of my faves are Montreux July 18th 2009. Particularly show 1. Plus pretty much anything from 2016 piano and microphone tour.

. What are your criteria for 'best'? - show length - set list - sound quality - band - city - your presence there - .... . ? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Montreux Jazz Festival 2009, hands down. Soundboard quality and video widely circulating. Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

Montreux 2009. He was on fire on that guitar. . I really love those non-hits concerts from 94/95. Too bad most of them arent so well filmed/recorded as the Montreux concerts (as far as I know)

As a fan of the Gold Experience era, the Glam Slam 94 show(s?) are great. I think my old boot was called Return of the Bumpsquad. Count the Days, Days of Wild, Pink Cashmere…!

I'm looking for a show with a heavy rock/funk vibe. I love his jazz stuff but I dig the rock/funk side of him more. I love his guitar solos. Some favorites include the Purple Rain solo during Syracuse and Empty Room in Montreaux

. There is a concert from those O2 London nights where he played a power trio show with Josh and Cora. I only know the audio, but it´s real cool. .

If you take any of this seriously, you're a bigger fool than I am.

. I want the stuf that you were using when you wrote this. The first set was nice, yes. The second set was boring as watching paint dry. The fans let Prince know thye did not like the repeat. He mad some small changes. But it was not enough. And if the Montreux deal had worked out OK and resulted in a DVD/BD release, then yes, it was worth it. But idid not. The b00tleggars got to the material before Prince got his things organized.

The 1998 aftershow in Cologne, at the Live Music Hall, see this for details, is kinda interesting. Not so obvious from the setlist, though. Audio is circulating. BluRay needs some time. Musicology because of the acoustic sit down. The 97-98 shows had backing tracks--blasphemy, because that one lady could not play guitar good lol All you others say Hell Yea!!
