The Tyson quote doesnt really mean her prince story isnt true, just that she has questionable views on Tyson.

Questionable views? If she finds rape acceptable, then assault shouldn't be an issue.

.

Anyone can accuse someone -- just like Amy Cooper did here:

Amy Cooper, Woman Who Cal... - YouTube

.

And Amy is now suing her employer:

Amy Cooper sues employer ...balnews.ca

"Amy Cooper, the white woman who falsely told police that a Black birdwatcher was threatening her life, is now suing the employer that fired her over the incident, claiming she was a victim of racial discrimination."

In Sinead the only woman who has made it public that she was treated like this by Prince?? I don't even think mayte or vanity ever said they were treated this bad.
Taking orders from Prince on what to eat and what to wear isn't bad at all compared to Sinead story

No one on here was there and so we will never know the real story. There is just so much conjecture here that all of this speculating is moot. If there's going to be a debate about mental health, it should at the minimum be a healthy debate.

My understanding was that Prince became vegetarian because of Mayte. It is not unusual for performers or entertainers to be told 'what to wear', or even be under some obligation to look a certain way -- the plastic surgery profession does well amid performers, actors and entertainers. And we all have to 'take orders' at work to a certain extent. Heck, even hospital workers are told what to wear.

And I'm not sure how Wendy would be performing with Prince long after the Revolution disbanded, she even worked on the Planet Earth album, if he put her in the hospital or broke her arm. Make it make sense. She said long after she left, that she was always around for when Prince wanted to get hold of her.

If I remember correctly, there was an interview from mayte in which she stated that the dress code applied to work only and she said" as a boyfriend, he was never like that" I'm going to bed now, but I'll definitely search it tomorrow and post the link.

This time around is the first time hearing that Prince's brother Duane was there, in an almost "butler" capacity? Is this a new development?

So Prince, Duane (if he was even there) and Steve Fargnoli (whom she is quoted as having told all this to at the time) are all gone . . . so there's no "other side of the story". It's only her account.

She's making the rounds. She was on the Today show this morning. Prince was mentioned briefly but they focused on the time she tore up the Pope's picture on tv and talked about that.

She's fully embraced Islam apparently so naturally she's carried on making music, which is haram. There are Hindu painted figures on her walls. And all her chairs at home don't have arms because she doesn't want people to stay. Could just be me but I don't see her being fully embraced by the 'Ummah' any time soon.

Thanks... btw, I don't doubt that Prince was controlling -- but that's not what we are really speaking about here with Sinead. There are inaccurate details in this article though as Mayte has never to my knowledge claimed that her parents signed over guardianship when she was 16 -- she was in school in Germany then.

Some of you guys have wild imaginations, lol. What makes you think that Prince was attracted to this ugly,bald-headed lady? lol We have all seen the type of women that Prince likes.Sinead is definitely not one of them.

lol I am guessing you have never seen pics of how she looked when she met Prince.......do a google search of "Sinead Oconnor with hair" and you will see.......she was stunning

Here's the thing, IMO, about Sinead.

First, she does have mental health concerns. She's sought help, even by touching base with Dr. Phil who - whether you like him or not he's connected to some of the best doctors and facilities in the country - put her in a women's facility in the country side.

We know Prince sorta had a little bully in him sometimes. Not a lot, not often, but he had his punk ass side. I believe he probably tried to bully her about swearing. He sat others down and tried to preach to them. Even Morris Hayes once allegedly told a former band member that he (Hayes) left the band for a while in the late 90s/early aughts because "of the religion thing." He called other past band members to Paisley Park to try and convert them, too. All these stories about big 2-hour JW talking sessions with Larry Graham and Prince heading a virtual JW conference.

I'm not surprised by this part of the story. As far as chasing her across a highway or road or something. Who knows.

She was right about the Catholic church, when people scorned her, and even Frank Sinatra got up in his feelings about a woman trying to expose sexual abuse in the church.

As a victim of past sexual abuse (not from Prince), she has a right to be heard and tell her truth. If Prince figures into that and triggered her in some fashion, so be it. People are gonna believe what they want anyway.

It's easy to dismiss someone like Sinead for being "crazy" or "having serious issues," as if we're all fine and dandy. "Yeah, but not like that." Okay then.

But let's not be obtuse and think Prince was practically perfect in every way. He wasn't. Was he an abuser? No. Then again, to someone who's been abused like Sinead - an act that will forever change a person - I suppose that goes through their filter of how abuse is defined for them.

Wow this is my favorite post response ever.

I don't have an opinion on Prince lecturing Sinead -- he may have. She allegedly met him in 1991 -- he didn't become a Jehovah's witness until years later. He seemed to be swearing quite a bit at that time, if his song lyrics are anything to go by.

.

And sure, she has a right to be heard and tell her truth. Problem is she had this to say about Mike Tyson's rape victim:

Sinead O'Connor Speaks - Rolling Stone

"Poor Mike Tyson. I mean, there is an example of a man who was treated abominably as a child; all his ancestors have been abused as children. He’s only a little tiny baby, and all of these people are trying to fuckin’ kill him. And they have killed him to a certain extent. They all have a great time saying what a monster he is. Lay off, because there but for the grace of God goes every single one of us. Poor man. He has had the most miserable upbringing.

If he looks for solace in the arms of lots of women, what do you expect him to do? And that woman that is suing him is a bitch. I don’t care if he raped her; he should learn about himself and why it is he behaves like that, et cetera, et cetera. But equally she should look at herself and look at the disgrace that she is making of women. Look at what she is doing to him by trying to get money off him, going around doing chat shows. She’s used him, you know. It’s disgraceful, and she’s a disgrace to women as far as I’m concerned."

.

Mental health concerns can be a lifetime struggle -- she was being helped by doctor Phil years ago, but where is she at today? She is also a mother with 4 kids.

Again like I have said its 30 years after this "Incident" she is claiming and also the man is dead and you can pretty much say what you want and who is going to defend? We saw this after he died and the focus was on him she took to the media to say "Prince was always using and Arsenio was his pimp and dealer" she soon retracted when Hall threatend a liable law suit. And i dont diminish her mental health struggles all her life, that is a life long thing, and I also dont think PRINCE was even close to a perfect person, no one is, and if he was perfect he probably would not be dead and have seen the dangers of what was happening and a way through the pain, but that is life. And I also dont take away the injustices should brought out against religion and the church I have long said THAT ALL RELIGIONS have deep seeded moral issues, not just the Catholic religion for things it covered up, but other religions that dont let women walk around without a man, or throw homosexuals off roofs, so we can go on all day about the BS in religions. But my issue is with her timing of her coming out with this, you have a book to sell, and lets be real she can say PRINCE was desperate for a hit, though I mean D&P was going through the roof when she claims this all, but she is famous for two things, that song, and the SNL appearance. And honestly you cant fault PRINCE for being upset with his song being given out to someone and him having no say in the matter, you just cant, yes he signed his contract and that probably wasnt something thought of, and he always wanted control of his music even when he had none. The issue she claims of her cursing, I dont get that because its 1991, PRINCE was cursing like crazy all over till even the Emancipation record so that seems a bit odd that he is bothered by her language, maybe he was bothered by the "Press" she was getting and also having his song as her hit, maybe he just didnt want negative press around him, who knows, I dont doubt his being upset with the label, he didnt approve it, regardless of it being a huge hit, it was very lucky because she had MTV she had the emotional video and that sold it, but without the words who cares about her? I mean not being harsh but no one would be interested in her book now if her biggest hit was "Mandika" that song gave her a platform, and like it or not on her part it was his song. The car story and all sounds very embellished also because again no one is there to disprove or prove this story, I mean if I was the limo driver thirty years later, why wouldnt he be selling his story and saying it happened, so I can only take this as a very embellished story also because how intimidating is a 5 foot 2 guy in heels, I mean he wasnt carrying a weapon, and I dont care how much his tone implied something, the story seems made up on that end.

I don't know, I find Mark rather intimidating. Here from 3:12, he says Prince flew him to Paisley Park in 2015 to look into his new project 3rdEyeGirl. Truth is 3rdeye formed in 2012, they put out an album in 2014; bass player Ida Nielsen had been with Prince since 2010 in the NPG. Some pretty brazen lying and disrespect for a woman he'd likely never even met -- how is he entitled to erase years of her career with Prince? And why would Prince need Mark's help for in 2015? He retired in 1992.

.

Brownmark - My Life in th... - YouTube

"Right before Prince passed, a year before he passed, he had flown me up to Minneapolis because he wanted me to look into a project with him, this new thing that ended up being 3rdeyegirl. Which, you know I'm not a girl so..."

Not a fine moment this rehearsal... but still not comparable to meeting someone for the 1st time and chasing them down the street -- he'd belong in an asylum if this was how he behaved. But we've all behaved badly at times with people we know well. And besides, where were the pillows and rocks?
