There is literally no point in talking to you guys sometimes.

Gonna go type words at a brick wall now.

12 inch vinyl is what made me want to become an illustrator and go to art school. When I was a kid, I'd pore through the album sleeves and lyric sheets and shit for KISS, Elton John, Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd, etc. I kind of miss the strong association between an album's art and its overall cultural impact, which was often times iconic.

Not saying that Emancipation is in this category and I liked some the booklet as well as the magazine style thing I somehow obtained. The cover is horrible.

I don't know enough about audio to say one way or the other if vinyl is superior to CD but audiophiles I know swear by the former. Just seems like a weird thing to get in a snit about but hey, the org is gonna org.

Sounds like we are taking subjective experiences and calling them fact lol. What is the definition of a "magical big difference" in this case? What may not be heard by you may be heard by someone else and is a big difference to them - so to me it is something hard to say "it does matter" or "it does not matter" as a whole


Not to mention, it is a case-by-case thing to begin with. Masterings, pressings, digital versus analog gear you may have, etc. For example an original UK pressing of Exile on Main St. completely smokes all but one specific digital version out there from a mastering perspective

I think the album is a mixed bag.There are some excellent songs here,but there are also songs that I skip.

there are many albums where you can listen on cd and vinyl and hear a difference.

might not necessarily be better, that does depend on your own preferences, but there is a difference.

i can play for example ok computer by radiohead and the diff is clear.

This album was clearly mastered for CD. The argument goes for old albums, often recorded to tape, mastered for vinyl that didn't sound as good when they put the same master onto CD.

It's fun to look at if you have nostalgia attached to it, such as the youthful imagination your poured over those 1970s albums.

Emancipation needs to remain untouched because if you ask 100 Prince fans to create their shortened configuration of it, you will get 100 different track lists.

For example, for me, The Love We Make is one of the first songs I would cut. I just have no time for it at all.
