The "weird ask" was whole plot point in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

“One rider that I thought was really out there was Prince’s. His rider asked for this special kind of roses or carnations – from Holland. He wanted an entire dressing room filled with these flowers, and it was going to cost $10,000.”

Since they were coming from Holland I assume must have been a Concert in Europe?

Ahhh I bet you're right. I don't warm to her personally when she is interviewed, but she's a beauty, you can see why he wanted to impress her!
