New book in italian market about Prince and Bach

Today Einaudi (a big publishing house in Italy) released "Bach e Prince, vite parallele" (Bach and Prince parallel lives). I haven't read it yet, but it is a real unusual editorial release.

Bach? I've always thought he was playing off Mozart.

Mozart with the persona... but Bach with the music?

Maybe it's about Sebastian Bach, singer of the metal band Skid Row.

Well the book is Italian so I'm trying to balance which Bach they would consider of public interest not trying to pretend I'm a scholar of the classics.

I would read this book if it was available in French or English.

It is a thesis that funk fans will find bizarre and sacred music aficionados will find it blasphemous. Yet it is precisely in these areas of contamination between apparently irreconcilable areas that new and beautiful ideas can germinate. And who better than Carlo Boccadoro could argue with such passion and competence a thesis like the one that gives shape to "Bach and Prince. Parallel lives"? Yes, because behind the public image of the "Minneapolis elf" and that, idealized in passing down from generation to generation, of the greatest Baroque composer, there are perhaps more similarities than differences. Starting with the struggle that both of these music giants waged - each in their own way - against the industry and powers of their own era. Come and hear that volcano by Carlo Boccadoro tell us why between the Minneapolis of the eighties and the Leipzig of the early eighteenth century there is a thread that no one had yet followed.

It would be interesting if he does actually make a case but I think this is only "opportunity" in another language.

He loved Europe (Italian/Italian American culture) specifically ... and Liberace is an influence.
