And puhleaze, no singles mixes, edit- & promo versions ectra album this time !

MAKE THESE (only) AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOADS ONLY PLEASE !

.

You lot and your stupid ideas. Including these things does not mean you get robbed of other stuff. It is the basic requirement and it allows them to release a "deluxe" version of the album without the vault tracks (and likely live album and DVD). In this case it will involve multiple discs (and I bet they're gonna miss out on some things), but this is a basic requirement.

.

Whining about this is ridiculous.

.

I see no way of how they could do this. The albums are too long for a proper vinyl release, but if you split each in three you end up with nine sides of vinyl, i.e. one blank side. And perhaps such a split isn't even possible, considering so many songs are segued together. Perhaps they'll ignore the CD splits and simply regard the collection as one long playlist, and they'll try to cut it into 15-20 minutes chunks, and then they could have a four/five disc set (but again: the segues).

.

Honestly, I wish they had ignored this set and just used its parts (in their original versions) as bonus tracks for the appropriate related albums. Now we have an SOTT SDE without CB and it's just ridiculous.

I want to suppor the estate and am willing to pay but not give away my $. I won't be buying CB, as I did not buy any of the ONA release last year. I have all that. However, I will MOST DEFINITELY purchase CB again if you do a remaster as good as was the case for SOTT. Crystal Ball is a poorly mastered set....it is way too loud and compressed to fault.

If you remaster it, I'm all over this.

Is this welcome to America album actually going to be good?

I'd rather a live album from the final tour.

There was an awards show at some point, and before introducing prince they played a short clip of videos etc. As usual, at some point they showed in sequence ALL his album covers, and after 20TEN they showed that very photo, which to me means the album was really considered for release and that was the cover. Can"t remember which awards show thatvwas though

Be very interesting if that was the cover. Quick check and I don’t see other album covers featuring him holding a guitar, which is surprising but in step with (sometime crude) attempts at rather more transcendent motifs (lookin at you Planet Earth!).

But here he is wielding an axe over NYC. And it’s a bass! And considering Bass is often low in his mixes, this excites me too! Though I don’t think any of the known WTA tracks are especially bass-led, right?

Anyway, I’m just dreaming of an awesome funk bass masterclass that redefines American music smile is that too much to ask of the estate?

This is AWESOME! I’m so psyched for W2A and D&P Super Deluxe. I look forward to the unknown (to me) vault tracks and hopefully great ones we already know (Eye Wonder, Get Blue, Open Book, and Uh Huh!) The 1991 NPG was a great band (1991-1995 and 2001-2003 are my fave NPGs), so I hope there’s an aftershow and/or one-off concert with a set list different from the main tour.

I'll add that while these releases aren't that exciting for me personally, I'm still happy that they are coming out, and I'm pleased for those who have been wanting them (Welcome to America especially). I've been spoiled rotten already with the releases, particularly in 2019.

Great news, very much looking forward to W2A. I may be the only person on the org who absolutely loves Hot Summer. Such a great, fun l, pop track. And D&P SD should be awesome, can't wait to hear that album remastered and hopefully some great unheard out takes too.

I don't think any of the Sony re issues have been remastered, so Crystal Ball is not something I'll be buying but it is fantastic that it will be available for those who don't get own it.

All in all, very positive.
