Lets talk about Prince's appearance on the Muppets show

https://ultimateprince.co...gh%20Pigs.

Back in 1997,to me having cable or sattelite tv was the best thing in the world.Ofcourse I was only 9 years old at the time.So I remember checking the tv guide and I found out Prince was going to be on the muppets show
I had to read the guide twice to make sure I was reading right.
I checked out the show and it was great.Prince was actually letting his guard down and having fun.The performance of starfish and coffee is still a treat to watch

What are some of your opinions about this TV appearance?

I liked it,I found it funny. It was also the first time we ever heard She Gave Her Angels. Just a shame that so many of the old muppets weren't there anymore. Prince backed by the Muppet Band with Animal on drums, I wonder what Waldorf & Statler would've said about that!
If you take any of this seriously, you're a bigger fool than I am.

i thought it was low-key one of the greatest TV performances of his career... he seemed so natural and comfortable interacting with the muppet characters... more real and comfortable than he seemed around Oprah and Arsenio and Larry King and Tavis Siley and George Lopez and them... it seemed like it was almost a glimpse of the real Skipper Nelson

i always thought the muppet with the book that was studying to be a "bone doctor", was violently raping those other muppets from behind... not sure how that got through censorship

I think the fact that he was able to go ahead with the taping just days after the death of his child is nothing short of amazing.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

The OP asked for opinions. S/he didn't put any conditions on them.

Who made you the thread police, anyway? That seems to be your deal lately.

Loved Prince on the Muppets, lol. He apparently told Ruth Arzate it was the best thing he ever did. She talks about it on Questlove’s podcast (around the 4 minute mark):

Prince never appeared on The Muppet Show. He appeared on Muppets Tonight. There never was a TV show called "the Muppets Show".

If you want to understand the nature of something, to find out the truth, that is one thing. If you want to play semantics, make up wild thought 'experiments', that is another thing. I am not so interested in the latter, though I do appreciate that it can be fun, however unproductive.

Never?

it's really something, isn't it?

And in every...fucking....thread...

Wish the mods would do something about it or introduce an ignore feature. I've seriously wondered what this man's "life" mus be like. Bet he's real fun at parties and social gatherings.

I thought Prince's appearance on THE MUPPET SHOW was pretty fun, all things considered. Ranks up there with Alice Cooper and Elton John among my favorites.

Oh, Bart. I know you will split hairs on this, but here goes …

While there was never a show called "the Muppets Show," there was one called "The Muppet Show." A simple Google search would have told you that.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074028/

No, Prince wasn't on that show - which aired from 1976-1981. But both "The Muppet Show" and "Muppets Tonight" were known as the Muppet Show in common parlance in the United States because "The Muppet Show" came first.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
