When I was younger all I wanted was Prince's voice, his words, his lyrics. So I bought most albums from For You to 20Ten and friends gave me lots of B-sides, concerts and bootlegs, starting 1988 (I never paid for a bootleg so somehow felt I wasn't going against his wishes). I learned most lyrics, every "oohwa!" every little nuance in the background etc like it was a job.

Then I gave it all away to free myself a bit from the obsession. My sister has a lot of it still so I can listen to my more rare old tapes/cds when I need to.

I have kept my tickets to concerts in my journals, and those bring me a lot of joy reliving my memories.

I have my Lovesexy tour book, the first concert of his I attended.

I have the gold confetti that fell from the sky at MGM Grand in Vegas in 1999, I have the set list for the after party at Studio 54 that he was referring to with his handwriting on it, wrist bands from other after parties, things that would be meaningless to some but mean a lot to me.

His music is what has sustained me and continues to bring me a lot of joy, whether I physically own it or not. I have some of the Prince estates reissued albums digitally which are beautiful, and I listen to a lot of his music online, that ironically he was against when he was alive. It's so incredible how much of his music, his soul, his words are now out there for everyone.

The year is 2020 and there's no more fear.

But I listen to my music on random.

The sacrilege!

Ever thought of what the intention of the composer, creator was when they recorded the albums?

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

I like to own all official releases. Each version of a song for example, even if it's the edit one.

Did I went crazy when I bought a framed picture from Jeff Katz?

I used to want EVERYTHING. Now I realize how futile that is, so I am satisfied with official releases. That said, I HAD TO HAVE the Japanese shm mini lp collection.
