3. Jesse Johnson

4. Morris Day

5. Monte Moir

Again, not a protegee.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Since you're not asking for just musical proteges ima go with Carmen Electra. He discovered her, gave her a showbiz name, and she became really famous.

Janet was much more of a partner to Jam & Lewis than a protégé.

Wouldn't consider S.O.S. one either as much as they were a full-time vehicle for the duo's production and sound.

I actually don't think any of them are, but the JJ & TLewis kinda mirrored what Prince was doing.

.

All of their sounds (and Janet's image and sound) was directly from the Minneapolis sound but in variations. Janet moreso, but she was also a HUGE fan of Prince & the Time anyway. Remember when Prince realized the had SOS and he wanted them to not give their sound out.

I don't see Sheena Easton as a protege though she has often catagorized as one. Sheena was a collaborator. She was already famous and established as an international pop singer prior to her first meeting with Prince. He definately influenced her look and sound afterwards but I still do not consider her to be a protege. Just my 2 cents worth...
