We can argue about whether what W&L say is true, but we all agree that they come across as very bitter. The Current making the decision to have bitter ex-bandmembers who were fired from the project to then be the spokepeople for the project for four whole episodes is a shame. Keeping it 100%, the Current botched this beyond repair. I look forward to the music next Friday.

I don't think that at all. Mark Brown has tons more shit to talk about Prince. No-one goes after him (and I certainly don't think anyone should, he's great!).

Brownmark has talked shit about Prince for years and he didn't claim that every hit song from the era was his creation.

ForceofNature

In an attempt to change the subject onto normal things, the sound quality on "Soul Psych" and the like sound absolutely fantastic and I cannot wait these next few days to enjoy all of these songs in such fidelity

This podcast exists to promote the deluxe set and I am properly psyched for this

They don't sound bitter at all to me. They sound like they were very upset at the time and are describing that. Nothing botched, i'm gonna recommend this podcast to some friends who aren't really into Prince.

Exactly. I mean for FUCKS sake...this is the reason most non Prince fans think we're so crazy and dillusional. Bitter ex-bandmates?? That's actually the key right there. They were in his band. They were actually there. And as such, they have more knowledge of historical Prince data then ANYONE here. And yet, they are dismissed as "bitter" by jealous, ignorant so-called "fans". This gets real old, real quick...

Oh, sweet.

Another stupid slap fight involving people who don't know shit about shit and were never there over reasons that make no sense. Cool.
Cool.

Never change, Prince.org, you crazy diamonds.

I'll put it like this:

I'd rather hear what former band members have to say than anyone here pontificating about shit they played no part in or know the first god damned thing about, and the podcasts are pretty great so far. WAY more fun that reading several of you posting "top ten hits" as a measure of credibility.

Could be that's just me though so you guys do you.

How many Top 40 hits?
How many Top 10 hits?

How many Number 1 Albums?

How many Number 1 songs?

Did they sell concerts out in minutes?

Did their box set of 33 year old singles sell out in minutes?

The body of work will last long after they gone and what was their body of work?

An Emmy for Nurse Jackie.

I would really like to know exactly why people here don't accept (for what it is)

what's being said by employees, protegees, bandmembers, industry people, etc.

What is it that really bothers so mcuh and so deep, I wonder.

-

Cause history is what it is.

There are back-up stories by others, and Prince was known for not giving enough credit sometimes. Prince was certainly not a saint - though he was the driven creative genius behind it all.

He was a human in the first place with a huge agenda - himself (and rightfully though), and he neede people around him to become 'him' - sometimes no matter for what costs.

It is all known, written and talked about in limitless words.

-

Isn't it just interesting to have a constructive debate, and leave the truth for whatever it might be ?

These stories 'help' to understand the whole picture we all would like so much to comprehend.

All fightings and longings for 'some truth' is quite subordinate when it concernes enjoying the music and the whole story that is being build up.

Each one his own truth, rightfully.

But why all the public bashing and convincing.

-

Where are all the polite approaches for a debate like, 'my-humble-opinion' and the 'I-believe-that', or 'I-do-not-agree-but' and 'let's-agree-to disagree' ?

-

"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)
