Im not a specIalist of the vault, but they could include anything from spring 1988 to the end of the promo. By the way, the bsides/ edits material would take at least two discs here. And then, one disc of unreleased material ( at least) For a change they could include for the dvd the music videos remastered and the live tv performances. That would make already 5/6 discs, already way too much to sell it at a correct price.

i would imagine they'll never include live tv performances in a SDE due to licensing logistics. maybe it could be the other way around. but seeing as how the SOTT set couldnt get the concert film, i doubt we'll ever see anything like that. it would be nice though

If it means we get the shelved Rave album, sign me up! Well, sign me up anyway as I love Batman, but if we get the Rave ‘89 album on top of that, this jumps to the top of my most-wanted list!

That's actually why I'm surprised anyone would doubt we would get a Batman SDE. Much like SOTT, there's an entire shelved album to consider.

Hi Love Galore,

Don’t get me wrong, the Rave ‘89 tracks are very high on my wish list. I’m really keen to hear ‘The Voice Inside’, ‘God Is Alive’, ‘We Got The Power’ in crystal clear quality. It’s just that for me, these songs are thematically far removed from the Batman project and sound more in line with LoveSexy.

If anything Rave ‘89 strengthens the probability of a Graffiti Bridge Super Deluxe. Considering that ‘Melody Cool’, ‘Elephants & Flowers’ and ‘Still Would Stand All Time’ were all considered for Rave ‘89 and ‘God Is Alive’, ‘Stimulation’ and ‘Pink Cashmere’ were on the earliest known configuration of Graffiti Bridge. There’s so much cross pollination between the two albums that it isn’t exactly clear whether they were considered to be two separate albums or the development cycle of the same album.

On a side note, I think there is little chance of us getting Rave ‘89 in any of it’s known configurations, considering that Sony now has the rights to the title track. My guess is that all the remaining unreleased tracks from Rave will appear on GB:SD or possibly Batman:SD, just like the Dream Factory tracks did on SOTT:SD. That’ll allow us to create the configurations we want, as was Michael Howe’s logic for Sign.

As for a Batman Super Deluxe? Not impossible, but far less likely.

For a start, there were next to no live performances between Lovesexy and the Nude Tour, so that’s the live discs made redundant.

Also, Batman was a very quick project that borrowed heavily from other interesting projects he had going for him at the time (ie Rave ‘89 and the songs he wrote as gifts for Anna Fantastic).

Personally I would love to see an album released that showcases what Prince was recording during this time, but from a marketing point of view it would probably be for the best to avoid the Batman branding. Include songs like ‘Dance With The Devil’ by all means, but it doesn’t strictly need to be a Batman album.

Im not a specIalist of the vault, but they could include anything from spring 1988 to the end of the promo. By the way, the bsides/ edits material would take at least two discs here. Well, I'd buy it for sure.

The problem with including the promo videos is…

1) It would be inconsistent with the other deluxe editions thus far (although to be fair, they shouldn’t have overlooked the music videos from the beginning)

2) They’d have to manufacture an entire DVD for a small amount of content (20-25 minutes worth I’m guesssing?) which is already available on the 2 disc DVD / Blu-Ray of Batman.

You’ve got me thinking, maybe Batman would be better suited for a deluxe edition similar to the format of Purple Rain (2017). It would be cheaper to manufacture and would keep the material focused on the Batman project.

This also means Warners can go to town on Graffiti Bridge Super Deluxe where all the in think all the Rave ‘89 and Anna Fantastic songs would be better suited, but this is just my opinion.

All you had to do, OP, was put the word 'Will' at the front of the sentence in your thread subject line, to avoid making this a douchebag-y misleading thread. But...... you didn't.

I would be pleasantly surprised if there was a Batman or GB SDE but I would not be surprised if there wasn't a Batman or GB SDE. True to say that Batman was one of his biggest albums - at least it has that going for it.

GB is one of my favourite Prince albums (if you chop out the other artists' tracks). The songs are miles ahead of anything even much of Purple Rain.

Frankly, considering the poor quality VHS like of the previous lives released in the deluxe edition, I would rather pay less and nit see them included.
.
Maybe they could include the movie Batman itself razz
