The Cocoa Boys? Not the Coco Boys?

I spent several seconds searching using that search thingy and didn't see anything (and I don't have time to read every page of every other discussion)...

Is "The Cocoa Boys" the correct spelling?

He mentions "Joe" and "Frankie"; and we know "Joey Coco"...so...?

(Who knows...Mavis Staples and her family all have the last name "Staples"...yet they call themselves "The Staple Singers"...maybe the group name is spelled differently than the individual names?)

"3123...that's next door to where the party be..."

.
The box of the 2" multitrack tape (no. 171-4) appear to say 'The Coco Boys', but I admit it's hard to read.

.

Update:
on another photo there are two 1/2" mixdown tapes with clearly visible 'Cocoa Boys' titles so I guess that settles it.

Well, the name of my fictitious band is "ABCsandraD" (we started as a fictional band but transitioned into a fictitious one)

Of course that's short for "A Band Called Sandra Dee"

(All of our imaginary fake blond/e* hair is pseudo-natural)

*three-fourths of the band is male and one-third is female

Y'all think this will have actual horns in place of Prince's guide vocals? As much as it cracks me up to hear him imitating horn noises, I'd love to hear the real thing razz

While I eventually want to hear all versions of all his songs, his "imitation horn" in Coco Boys (as I will always spell it) would be near the top of my "favorite things in a Prince song (serious/nonsensical/whatever)" list. (I haven't yet formally made such a list...so for now it is #1)

Yes, that's right, thanks!

I was looking for the 2" multitrack (171-4) and that's very hard to read, but there are two 1/2" mixdown tapes partially visible on another photo (DSC_0051.jpg) and both are very clearly labeled as 'COCOA BOYS'.

indeed. i hope there is no real horn part on the released version because the way it is on the boot
we have now it totally fits the song of him telling this whole story and so he also imitates the horn
parts with his voice as you might do in narrating something to people. it's pretty cool and funny.

For one Y'all be nice... no need for bickering after all "fighting is the ultimate sin"

As to Coco or Cocoa... I do not see how it can be cocoa based on the song...he sure seems to be singing Coco... but Look at "Yeah, U Know" most of the time the lyric is "Yeah, I know."
