Bliss is the seventh track on Kahoru Kohiruimaki's sixth album Time The Motion (the second of two Prince-related tracks). The track was written and produced by Prince and Levi Seacer, Jr.
While specific recording dates are not known, initial tracking took place in Summer 1989, at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA (during the same set of sessions as Mind Bells, Shall We Dance, Sex, Heaven Must Be Near and Seven Corners). Kahoru Kohiruimaki's manager, Seijiro Udo, had promoted Prince's Japanese concerts on the Lovesexy Tour, and Udo asked Prince to provide some tracks for Kohiruimaki, leading to the recording of Mind Bellsand Bliss. Kahoru Kohiruimaki recorded her own vocals over the basic tracks in Autumn 1989 (studio information is needed for her recording).

Certain arts were birthed by the times they came of age in. I think Prince would have 'slayed' as a 60s artist and 70s' artists. Because his essence flowed easily during those cultural times. We saw it in him and his art through out his career. He was a bit of a conservative bohemian hippie I don't know if Prince started in the 90s if he would have made a mark or been able to holistically be who he was in the time period that became less fluid.

Prince would had been relevant no matter when he happened to be born. His game and his talent are real hard to ignore or deny. Even people I meet who don't care for his stuff recognize his skill and acknowledge his brilliance, even if he's not thier cup of tea.

Very few people I run into will argue that he sucked. His detractors will say he was weird or whatever but I've never one I can't blow away (or at least impress) with the right track just by asking what THEY like and generally listen to. Metal heads, hip hop lovers, technos, punk, jazz afficianodos...I can always find a track to put on that will turn their head and ask me who that is.

Usually they're surprised to learn it's Prince.

I remember some young 22 year old know it all overhear me playing the back end of "Last December" once who stubbornly refused to believe it was actually Prince. Won over a couple of DJ's and blues listeners in my day too. The trick is not to be pushy. Just put it on and, believe me, they'll inevitably ask "who's that?", especially if there are no vocals.

I left Prince's band in 1989 and it was my choice to leave. He did not fire me. I chose to leave, because, I'm mother's child-- I have morals, values and I could make my own decisions.

I was actually on a retainer while Prince was doing the "Batman" movie. He fired someone—but, he actually wanted me to fire that person-- and that's why I left.

Cat Glover on her unreleased solo album I Am Energy: When I moved to London, they wanted me to sign with Warner Bros., or WEA International (now Warner Music International), with Fargnoli. He had started his own (record) label called Red Dot Music. The album's title, I Am Energy, was, because, everyone said when they saw me on stage I had so much energy. Prince called me his endorphin. Most of my clothes (on the Lovesexy Tour) said "Endorphin."
Basically, everyone said "Cat, when you're around me, you give me so much energy." So, I called the album I Am Energy.
However, it was never released, because, of a conflict of interest. Fargnoli was my manager, but, he also owned the label. So, it was not working out. I asked to be released from my contract and (the album) never came out. There were no more releases after (the single) "Catwoman."
"Now it Rains" was on the b-side. They asked me out of all the songs, what would I like on the b-side, and that song was something different. I wrote that about Prince. "Now It Rains" is still my favorite song.
The album was completed. However, Simenon, my producer, actually owns the masters; Warner Bros. never paid him. He has all my masters. He produced everybody: Neneh Cherry, Seal and he did a lot of remixes for Prince. He's a really good friend of mine.

Later in 1989, Yo Mister was released as the album's second single, containing various remixes of the track. Basic tracks were recorded on 11 November 1986 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California (six days after the Camille album was completed). Patti LaBelle's lead vocal overdubs were recorded on 21 May 1988 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota (on the same day as lead vocal overdubs onto Love 89).

The original Rave unto the Joy Fantastic album was shelved when Prince started working on the Batman soundtrack in late 1988. The album shared some tracks with Graffiti Bridge and the title track was finally released in 1999 on a new album of the same name.

THE SEX OF IT

The album was completed and scheduled for release when Prince submitted the song in late 1989 (which he had promised when meeting Darnell in Europe during the Lovesexy Tour), and the record company delayed the release to include the song.

A handwritten tracklist for The Time’s Corporate World on which Prince and Morris Day worked on in Summer 1989 shows that The Sex Of It was, at one point, also considered for that album.
But it is not known if an actual recording with Morris Day’s vocals took place.

Out of all of the protogee artists, I really wanted a Cat Glover album. I don't know why, but I always dug her style and would have loved to see a full-length from her.

This article describes how Jana Anderson started working with Prince in 1989.

During her interview, Anderson recounts running into Prince years later, around 2008:

Anderson went on to work with Fleetwood Mac, Don Henley and Sheena Easton. Around 2008, she spotted Prince on a flight to Minneapolis, and they spent time catching up. He surprised her by suggesting she record a country album, which she was in the middle of doing at the time.

"He just knew stuff," she said. "It was like he was clairvoyant."

She said Prince also offered an apology.

"He said, 'I'm really sorry about what happened when we were working together,'" she recalled. "'I don't know if you heard, but I was having a lot of trouble with my record company at that time.' ... Maybe he felt bad I didn't get credit for 'MPLS.' I'm not sure what [it was].
