PrintableEverybody keeps talking about bringing new fans etc. That’s not the case. The only records that get a boost are the ones constantly shoved down our throats aka purple rain and 1999. This man had a 40 year career and everybody acts like he stopped making music after 1988. Was 78-88 the golden period? Yes. But there’s been greatness since. As far as this, am I shocked or surprised? No. My issue is if you are gonna stay in this era, at least give us a concert from the tour we don’t have or haven’t seen and heard over and over. Shit isn’t even the best show of the tour. Give me Worcester or La Forum or even MIAMI. Idk smh. | |

I agree. In the digital age the audio tracks of all these video albums deserve to be made available on audio-only format. I have a rip from the DVD but I'm glad casual fans who don't necessarily want to watch 2 hrs of Prince live can now listen to it on streaming platforms. The remastered audio of Syracuse was available on Tidal without the video as part of the deluxe expanded set until today when it has been removed. I guess somebody at the Estate realised their digital audio 'exclusive' was not so exclusive. Anyone else noticed this on any other streaming services? | |

Prince org seemingly hasn't changed which is why I never come around. Negativity reigns... So much for "have you had your + sign today?"

Wait, I don't believe it was. I have TIDAL, and I have had the PR Deluxe version downloaded from TIDAL since it was made available to stream years ago. And I never had the Syracuse audio as part of the set. I do remember a seperate, unoffical version of Syracuse available off and on on TIDAL over the years. But not as part of the PR Deluxe set. And it wasn't for sure the remastered version... | |

Prince and the Revolution’s ‘Live 1985’ Concert to Stream on YouTube for Coronavirus Relief The Prince Estate, in partnership with YouTube, will host a three-day streaming event of “Prince and the Revolution: Live,” the legendary concert filmed toward the end of the “Purple Rain” tour in Syracuse, NY on March 30, 1985. The show will be available on Prince’s official YouTube Channel for three days only, beginning on Thursday, May 14 and continuing through 11:59pm on Sunday, May 17. In collaboration with YouTube and Google, the streaming event will run in support of the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization (powered by UN Foundation and Swiss Philanthropy Foundation). Yeah it sounds better for sure, the backing vocals are mixed differently but still not pristine. Sound on that tour wasn't pristine. Picture looks like the VHS, just brighter. Surprised they didn't upres it to HD. | |
