Will Dirty Mind get a remastered deluxe box set?

Would you guys want a Dirty Mind deluxe box set? I think his whole discography needs a deluxe box set but Dirty Mind I would buy because It's my favourite Prince album, and it needs a remastering.

It's been remastered on vinyl. I have it. As far as a box set, it'd be an interesting period. The Rebel stuff is probably good to put in there, too.

It really is one of the better sounding CDs, you can only take those home demos so far sonically..... Do you just want a volume increase/maximization?

I have the remastered Vinyl as well, but I mean a whole box set (a CD version, as well as a Vinyl version) with the original remastered album on one disc, and some previously unreleased tracks from the vault (they should probably remaster the unreleased stuff as well)

Well, the 2011 vinyl remaster sounds good, they could probably use that for the remastered set, or they could further enhance it with newer technology. I wouldn't want a volume increase, because then it would probably decrease the sound quality instead of enhancing it, I would be more interested in the bonus discs though with unreleased tracks, and possibly a Blu-Ray disc with a concert from the Dirty Mind tour (If it was shot on 35mm film, if it was shot on VHS, then DVD would have to do.) I honestly doubt Dirty Mind Deluxe Edition will be released anytime soon, someday hopefully, the estate's next box set release will probably be what will make them the most money (Most likely, Sign 'O' The Times, or 'Parade')

1. Will it? -- One would expect so.

2. Would we want it? -- Duh.

3. When will it be? -- No one knows.

4. What about all the other albums? -- See 1-3 above.

I would add Rough and Prince’s version of I Don’t Wanna Stop to the 2nd disc and even a separate disc with all rough demos like the acoustic demo of Sister that came out a while back.

I think this is probably a low priority for the estate. DM, while it ranks amongs my favourite Prince records, is not really a big seller compared to many other releases still missing a deluxe treatment.

I only have this on vinyl, so I do not know about the CD - but I guess the charm of these recordings also lies in the fact that they are so sparse / demo-like. So not really a need to improve this sound-wise as much.

I would prefer to get deluxe treatments of:

SOTT

ATWIAD

Lovesey/Black Album

Lovesymbol

D&P

For all these, I think there are great unreleased songs (and hopefully many more we have never heard of from the vault). Also, I believe these deluxe editions would benefit greatly from adding the official music videos of their time - for me, this woud be awesome.

So I would rank DM deluxe personally on a lower "want this now" scale.

I guess since this is going to be asked for every single goddamn album the dude released, I'll try to add a little truth to the set.

The 2011 "remaster" only went back to a production master tape. That's still a few generations away from the sequenced master 1/4" tapes that still exist. So, no, they would not use the 2011 remaster or any other source besides the original tapes. "1999 Super Deluxe" sucked but they weren't dumb enough to not use the existing 1/2" album masters.

For shows and outtakes, damn y'all are shorting it. They could easily include the original September 1980 "Dirty Mind" configuration and other songs recorded around that era (another supposed re-recording of "Wouldn't You Love To Love Me", "I Don't Wanna Stop", "Too Tough", and whatever other band/Rebels recordings were made past the original dates for "The Rebels" project)

According to some WBR promotional team dude, the Flippers 1981 show was shot by Warner, so a blu ray would be ideal for the maximum quality out of that and they could fill the disc with another show that Morris would've videotaped.

Yes. All future re-release WB releases will get the deluxe for CD's.

How about a Rude Boy box set which would combine the Dirty Mind & Controversy years? This would have all the outtakes including Extralovable and Lust U Always (c'mon, Estate, don't be shy) and The Second Coming.
If you take any of this seriously, you're a bigger fool than I am.
