If anyone prefers Tevin’s version, then you haven’t heard the version Prince first played at Paisley Park during the Beautiful Experience.
That version is quality!

And for those of you cringing cause Prince sung it!?
FFS you really need to learn how to differentiate between art and reality.

Next thing you’ll be opposing that Shhh be included in TGE Deluxe Remasters because it has a line relating to pedophilia.
Dumb arses. mad

I do not think it was inappropriate for T to have sung that song when he was under 18. Generally young boys do not wait to turn 18, 19, 21 to start having sex, they start younger. And if they are just thinking about it, they can be a minor to think/fantasize about sex.

I like Prince's version better than T's.

The "home work" verse can also apply to college students!

Many artists wrote or sung a song with lyrics that some people think are inappropriate.

For example: some religious people may not like Billy Joel's "Only the Good Die Young lyrics.

...."Come out Virginia don't let me wait, you Catholic girls start much to late....Aw but sooner or later it comes down to faith, I might as well be the one".

nothing "creepy" about Tevin doing that joint...its just a song ...and plenty of 17 year olds do fuck after school...its nature, not creepiness

Correct. And as someone also said Prince at a similar age was writing graphic songs. For example his first single was soft and wet with clever but graphic lyrics about sex/female arousal. Prince should have been able to sing soft and wet, and it was ok for Tevin to sing about sex. I mean look at the meaning and subtext of the Shirelles "Will he still love me tomorrow"

"
Will You Love Me Tomorrow", sometimes known as "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow"[1], is a song written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King. It was originally recorded in 1960 by the Shirelles, who took their single to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song is also notable for being the first song by a black all-girl group to reach number one in the United States.[2] It has since been recorded by many artists over the years, including a 1971 version by co-writer Carole King...wiki
