No.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

How many tribute shows have the Grammies done now? 3, 4? Getting a bit ridiculous....

3, 4 tributes, but only 1 song, oddly enough.

Come to think of it, they should just be completely unabashed about it and have every artist on the bill do their own rendition of "Purple Rain" back-to-back for 2 hours straight.

Usher again? I bet it will be a rehash of his mediocre Grammy's performance and FKA Twigs will have to be an accessory to him again, when she could do an infinitely better tribute on her own.

nah...too depressing to keep seeing Prince referred to in memoriam...and seeing Earth Wind & Fire without the late master Maurice White (RIP), and without the great Al McKay playing guitar, is just as sad...im gonna pass on this one most likely

Cosign...he is already less listened to on Spotify than a bunch of musically inferior contemporaries...some princeheads seem to want him only for themselves.

Hmmm.. what song would you like to see performed and by who?

Here are some I would like, not sure who could make it theirs and not bad imitation:

La La La He He He

The Love We Make

Dolphin

Colonized Mind

Somewhere Here On Earth
No More Haters on the Internet.

"want Prince for themselves"???

what does seeing a bunch of d-list wannabes make a mockery of Prince's catalog, have to do with "want Prince for themselves"?...or Spotify?

They only did the one with Bruno Mars and The Time in 2017. The performance with Usher this past Grammys was just a preview for this coming show.

Be glad they are honoring him.

Nobody has to acknowledge him at all and he could be just a footnote in music history like alot of honor

artist. Be grateful or don't look at it!

No one is mocking his music. But some of you nutcases prefer his music be forgotten than popular acts who you deem inferior to keep it alive and pay it tribute. Don't think I don't understand the sentiment...Prince was of the same ilk...such a tragically controlling figure that he didn't get that with the internet it's about exposure and people paying to see you that matters...not who owns the masters

people keep saying "his music will be forgotten"... Marvin Gaye been dead for almost 40 years...nobody has been doing annual Marvin Gaye TV tributes and nobody has forgotten his music..or Sam Cooke's music, nobody has forgotten Rick James music, or Jimi Hendrix music.. the list of past musicians who have transitioned from their physical form is endless, and they are seldom "forgotten"...we also have albums, cassettes, tapes, videos, and endless streaming services for audio and video not to mention our personal memories...so to think these recurring, cheesey, ritualistic, TV tributes are necessary to preserve Prince's legacy and memory, is an incredibly ridiculous premise
