Do you think there were any parts of Prince's music/ career that catered to kids?

I always viewed Prince as having an adult audience for his music. Even if some kids appeared in his movies/ music videos, the focus was always on adults and adult themes. Could be safe to say that Prince delved in the Adult Contemporary musical genre.

I think his youngest audiences are in their late teens. I didn't become a Prince fan until I was 16/ 17.

I was 7 when Batman came out, and I can tell you: pretty much every kid in my elementary school displayed symptoms of Batmania until well after Christmas of '90. A lot of people my age first encountered Prince through Partyman, not Purple Rain.

There was also his later appearance on The Muppet Show. I'm sure there are plenty more examples.

I started listening to Lovesymbol at 11 because I was lucky enough to have older brothers. But anyone that colorful and energetic who can write memorable songs is bound to get some kids' attention.

Don't think Diamonds and Pearls was catered to kids, but I love that video.

No.

There are dozens of songs in his catalog that are APPROPRIATE for kids. But, were any CATERED to kids? No, at least none that were released. Whatever he and Mayte had planned in 1996 would have been the exception.

Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

Alphabet Street, Raspberry Beret, Starfish and Coffee.... I don't know if it was intentional, but these are like kids songs in a lot of ways, and the imagery for the first two suggests his head wasn't too far off from Electric Company vibes.

Grafitti Bridge has a kind of a kids vibe, even if it would have to be for some interesting kids.

Kiss has lyrics that are the type of things you'd say to kids.

The show was called Muppets Tonight. Takes zero skills to google this.

And that appearance was supposed to help promote http://www.princevault.co...appy_Tears.

What about the songs he did for the aborted soundtrack "I'll Do Anything?" They sound kids like. As a matter of fact, the whole cast of the movie had sung the songs with different musicians and without Prince's input. However the James L. Brooke film failed with test audiences. As a result, none of the songs were ever used for the movie.

I wasn't mentioning the specific title (no caps or italization) but referring to the that staple of Henson-dom: muppet show shit.

Why?

It might be borderline "on-the-spectrum" to be overly specific on this kind of trivia here. That's exactly why i didn't try. I'm not.

It's good to see that the link you looked up and pasted is completely in line with my post: The Prince songs (one even remixed) on the muppet show on that children's channel were catered to kids. So was that once mentioned, unrealized project.

I'm still struggling to remember the name of the TV show with the muppet characters!

I think Prince may have once been in it.

Please, for once, can we just go a single day without responding? Some people are better left ignored.
