Yeah for sure, I would have put Shockadelica on SOTT instead of 'It'. I think he could have added some more guitar too, maybe add some extra funk to the track.

The guitar shoud have been more in the front of the mix, but what I was talkin about it's that it needed a country kind of sound country funk number if you like.

Fun fact - on the 7" version, the part from 2:01 - 2:22 (which is otherwise unrepresented on the 12" version) is a repeat of the part from 1:05 - 1:26. It's the exact same piece spliced in to mask the edited portion from the 12" verion. Think about it - the 12" (at 4:54) is 1:34 longer than the 7" (which is 3:20), yet the missing portion is 1:54 (which if edited onto a 3:20 song would produce a total time of 5:14). To mask the edit, the main bridge from the first verse was repeated.

Oops, you're right! I had the 10 from 5:10 stuck in my head and posted that instead of the real time extension.

Just to be technical: the only version of "Do Me, Baby" that is long is the album version, which makes it the original version not a longer cut or take. Sure, it's a long song, but there is no longer version than the damn-near 8 minute album version. The only different version, besides any 7" edit, is the original one with Andre Cymone's vocals.
