Let's be honest here. We would have loved to see him show up for it and watch the video wih him in it, just because it would be a wtf moment in time with him in his prime/apex. "Climb in my fur."

Recent interviews: You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Nah. Him playing second fiddle to MJ would have been the bane of any Prince fans existence in any of the innumerable MJ/Prince comparisons pre and post social media... you see, it ceases to be his prime/apex if that occured, and I'm sure Prince knew that as well.

Prince made the perfect choice when not participating with the song We are the world. Terrible song. 4 The Tears Of Your Eyes is easily the better song. As 4 Lionel Richie it had nothing to do with Prince ego. Prince always recorded his vocals all alone that's what people have said that worked with him.

Galaxy said: Prince made the perfect choice when not participating with the song We are the world. That doesn't matter. There were others there who probably recorded the same way but they still showed up and sang with the group.Terrible song. 4 The Tears Of Your Eyes is easily the better song. As 4 Lionel Richie it had nothing to do with Prince ego. Prince always recorded his vocals all alone that's what people have said that worked with him.

Would have been trippy to see MJ towering over him while he sang the "But if we just believe.... there's no way we can fall" line. Would have looked really funny. A certain kind of mellow.
