There she goes again ... begging for attention. No other associates are saying anything, except for her. She has thrown her tantrum on IG, FB, Twitter. When was the last time she sang a song?!? ONE movie and two songs and she act like she should have a set for a Grammy event?!? rolleyes

I appreciate your passion for those who did share the "blood, sweat and tears" of the early days.

Prince borrowed/shared from all of them and he did not come to his position by himself.

I feel a sadness for many of the fairly unacknowledged early folks, Jill, Andre, Jesse etc. In a perfect world, I would prefer to listen to these musicians at the Grammys as i know the history as do many of us.

Of course, this is Big Business now and it won't happen.

Right. A "true" Prince tribute would include all or most of the folks who played, sang, and performed with him throughout his career. Unfortunately, this would mainly interest the longtime Prince fans who know the history and the older music. They have to go for mass appeal with more of the current pop artists in ordert to pull in the most viewers.

I gotta agree with you on this one. Nothing against Appollonia, and she did a great job with Prince in the Purple Rain film, BUT....she is not a singer nor a musician. No reason for her to be on stage.

Everyone saying all these associates should be at this event...it's a Grammys show. It's supposed to be other famous musical artists paying tribute. If the Estate wants to do another proper tribute concert they can invite Jill, Cat, 3EG etc. Also if Sheila is the musical director of this show I'm not surprised certain people aren't involved. But I think it's mostly because the Grammy folks know casual Prince fans/the people tuning into this show wouldn't know who the heck Jill Jones or Cat Dyson is.

And let's be honest, whatever one thinks of Sheila her BET tribute was probably the best of all of them. It was tight and the songs segued together really well (which is something Prince was known for). I fully expect it will be a tight show and much better than the shit show Morris Hayes had to direct. Or the pathetic Bruno Mars Grammy tribute which was nothing more than bad karaoke complete with him in Purple Rain era costume. #vomit

Agreed.

And the Bruno Mars train wreck. I try to block that from my memory. It was awful.

I hope this isn't the complete list of performers. I'd love to see Nile Rodgers, Stevie, Chaka and Lenny there too. I'd much rather see them than someone like Lizzo.

Yes! Especially to Stevie and Nile. And Lizzo can come too for the kiddies.

Another article states the Grammy's will have a separate P tribute on Sunday with Sheila, Usher, and FKA Twigs.

Will this be apart of the broadcast for the Grammy's or is it another event after the Grammys air?

Wait, y'all actually liked that performance? I never know what to expect at this place lol

It was a complete letdown for me, just glorified karaoke. At least Bruno had more charisma whenever he pulled that shit a few years ago. The worst part for me is how Sheila E was relegated to the background, and Twigs didn't even sing anything. Her dancing was great, but she got about 30 seconds of spotlight out of the whole five minutes of Usher mugging for the camera.
