Also found this on Alfred. Does this mean that the funeral home has filed a claim against Alfred's Estate or the Prince Estate?

Well, I live in KCMO, they are pricey, but I didn't see any roads shut down, for Alfred's.

Actually I would say that is about right. 4 years ago my Dad's cost around 21K, we didn't have anything fancy, no limo's, etc...

And my Dad already had the plot...

Funerals are priced based on the casket that's picked out.
Since Alfred was a veteran, he could have been interred for free at any Veterans' cemetery. We've heard of no direct heirs. I wouldn't be surprised if whoever made his arrangements got a big kickback from the funeral home.

My in-laws had "prepaid" funerals but after they died, te funeral home came up with all kinds of "extra costs" that were not included.
After going through that, my own family discussed and our parents were cremated. No funeral. We just got together.

I saw the remains at Paisley in a clear model of Paisley Park at the top of the atrium in 2018. Did the metal urn come happen before or after this?

I dont see how it could cost big bucks. It was a miniature model. Not more than 30 inches width I believe.

I'd imagine that $82k+ figure is composed of more than the urn and the cremation but without a detailed report about it, it's anyone's guess what it was spent on. I'm sure the memorial service as well as whatever kind of gathering was held was included in that but no idea what else may have gone into it.

If this was the one I saw, then I couldve sworn the bottom of the model was see through and I could see the ashes at the bottom looking up. Anybody else who visited and saw who can confirm?

The heirs are the ones who racked up the bills and as we all know, bills must be paid. Shouldn't be a concern for anyone else. I don't understand the pearl-clutching over these kinds of things at all.

Interesting filing today by Brian Jorde, attorney for Alfred's brother, Shawn Jackson.

To make a long story longer, this is what Shawn is alleging:

  • Alfred had no children or spouse, and his will is being challenged in Missouri Probate Court.
  • Attorney Leonardo Di Vinci Starke, a Miami based attorney is the Personal Representive in Alfred's estate, and his appointment as PR is being challenged by the family.
  • The alleged sole heir of Alfred's will is Raffles Van Exel
  • Leonardo prepared Alfred's will
  • At the time he prepared Alfred's will he was also Raffles attorney
  • Allegedly Leonardo is also a business partner of Raffles.
  • Leonardo brokered the deal between Alfred and Primary Wave
  • Shawn is challenging whether Alfred was competent to sign a deal with Primary Wave, and signed for less than fair market value.
  • Alfred signed 90% of his 1/6 interest in Ps estate to Primary Wave
  • Leonardo stands to make $1 mil from Primary Wave for his represention of Alfred
  • Alfred was living in an assisted living facility at the time of his death.
  • Shawn is alleging due to Alfred's mental and physical health he was unable to understand the complicated legal documents he signed. Alfred was taking Haloperidol which is an antipsychotic medication used to treat certain mental/mood disorders such as schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorders.
  • Shawn alleges Alfred had a long history of Parkinson disease, hypertension, and depression. Alfred had sought and received psychiatric care for decades and the medications described above were done so by his psychiatrist.
  • Shawn is requesting the Judge in Ps Estate not to allow Primary Wave to participate until this dispute is settled.
  • Raffles has a colored history involving musicians and those around them. Raffles was in the hotel room of Whitney Houston at or shortly after the moment she was found dead from a drug overdose and he removed evidence from the room prior to police arriving.
  • It has been alleged Raffles took pictures of Whitney Houston's dead body and sold it to the media for his personal gain
  • Raffles inserted himself into Michael Jackson's entourage and is believed to have benefited from Michael Jackson's death via distribution of assets and or personal property. Raffles has a history of searching out celebrities and their family when they are at a low point and then inserting himself into their lives ultimately for his own financial gain or for financial gain of those he is associated with.
  • Through a series of calculated actions Raffles was able to isolate Alfred so that Raffles would have the ability to unduly influence and fraudulently bait Alfred into allegedly signing a Will on July 24, 2019. That Will and its contents did not embody or describe Alfred's true intent.
  • Part of Raffles, and others working with him, scheme to get Alfred to sign a Will leaving everything to Raffles included handpicking a lawyer, who had no prior relationship with Alfred at all, to fly from Miami, Florida, to Kansas City Missouri with a Will that was drafted at Raffles direction and to present that Will to Alfred.
  • Part of Raffles, and others working with him scheme, was to get Alfred to sign a Will leaving everything to Raffles included finding persons to notarize and witness the alleged Will execution who were persons not known to Alfred and who did not understand Alfred's limitations and medical and psychiatric history.
  • Part of Raffles, and others working with him, scheme to get Alfred to sign a Will leaving everything to Raffles included hiding their plans from Bruce, who was Alfred's caregiver and Power of Attorney - despite the fact that Raffles knew Bruce held a Power of Attorney. Bruce is another brother of Alfred's.

More allegations by Shawn Jackson:

  • That to be a valid Will, the writing is required to be in writing, signed by Alfred and is required to be signed by at least two individuals, each of whom witnessed the signing, These requirements were not observed or completed with the challenged Will.
  • Shawn believes that Raffles and Leonardo failed to prove the purported July 24, 2019 Will was actually witnessed by at least two individuals each of whom witnessed either the signing or the Alfred's acknowledgment of the signature or of the will all prior to Alfred's death.
  • Alfred granted Power of Attorney over his personal and financial affairs in order to protect himself from those with impure motives seeking to take advantage of the fact.
  • Shawn was purposely not consulted and intentionally kept in the dark during which time Raffles, and others working with him, executed their plan to dupe Alfred into executing a will and trusting each of them to lay the groundwork for future purported transactions.
  • Prior to the alleged execution of the purported July 24, 2019 Will, Raffles, and others working on his behalf or direction, had the opportunity to exercise such influence because they had claimed to befriend Alfred, claimed to have been only acting in his interest, inserted themselves into his life at a time his was vulnerable and in need of sound unbiased advice and guidance but instead leveraged Alfred's condition for their own purposes and gain, and unduly influenced Alfred to take actions he would not have otherwise take

What a mess!!!

Bear in mind this is a value, it doesn't mean the Estate have $200 million.

In fact it is possible for a large company to have no money in the bank and then not be able to meet it's debts. In this case assets would need to be liquidated (turned into cash) to pay the bills.

So be careful when interpreting these sort of headlines as technically it is possible for the Estate (and any other company) to go broke if their income is less than their outgoing liabilities!

cool

It is my understanding that one needs to be mentally competent to appoint a POA.

Alfred does not strike me as having been mentally competent enough to choose his own POA.

If Alfred was living in a facility at the time of his death, then how was it he was at his home that he purchased when he died in his sleep?

How did Raffles befriend Alfred when Raffles is in Florida and Alfred in KC?

This is a slimey lawyer for sure.

That's $100 mil less than it was worth 4 years ago, when he died. Not good.
