I had a bit of an eye opening moment today. It was secret Santa at work and I bought a colleague a CD. When they unwrapped it they were a bit bewildered, they have never owned a CD before, and asked me how to stream it! it just goes to show that things have moved away so much from physical releases that they aren't even really part of people's world anymore

So what do the sales numbers say?

When will the wrecka execs evaluate those numbers and draw conclusions?

Will we see a Parade Deluxe?

Wow. I believe it - but it still breaks my heart.

It's been selling steadily on the Amazon CD and Vinyl charts; currently it's at #37.

Also, if you look at the stats for just the regular edition it's barely selling anything --- SOOOO, almost all of the sales are for the Deluxe version which Amazon has been selling lately between $55.00 and $70.00.

That seems pretty good considering the price...and you don't even get freaking AutoRip with it....so there's probably some folks who bought the collection and bought the MP3 for $47.00.

I think they're doing just fine.

Amazon now has it for $129.99 though third party sellers. There prices have fluctuated wildly since it was released; I think the low was $40 or $45 for a very brief moment.

So yes it seems to be selling very well for the price.

Actually, Galileo, it isn't available at all from "Amazon itself". The vinyl version is available at exorbitant prices from Amazon FBA sellers, but the CD set is posted as unavailable. Now, if an FBA seller registers stock, that would change which is why you would see a CD copy for $200. The FBA marketplace is just like any other marketplace where the vendor determines the price. Amazon sells according to the MSRP, or lower. Tada.

And yes it's possible that the vinyl could've ALSO sold at the same price for a brief moment.

And...yes, on occassion Amazon is offering it on their page through third-party-sellers such as it is currently. But when it did hit its peak the seller was Amazon.

BTW, I just checked Ebay and it seems to be possbily selling for less but I haven't seen what a new US version CD box actually SOLD for on there.

Well here's what I can tell you with unimpeachable certainty; when THE CD was listed for its high the homepage did not say Amazon, I believe it said it was unavaialbe. Then when I clicked on the next page where it shows third-party sellers and who the set is selling through, on THAT page it listed several third-party-sellers, BUT the very first listing at the $203 price was fulfilled through AMAZON. Fulfilled through AMAZON not a third-party seller. Whether this was some mistake or an anomaly or such I don't know?

But that, for me, is my last word on the subject.
