I´ve always wondered about the jars. What is in those jars ? Homemade tomato sauce ? Jam ? Homemade pickles ? I doubt it´s tomato sauce because Minnesota´s climate is probably too cold to grow tomatoes but it could be jam. Raspberry jam? Strawberry ? Homemade kimchi? But folks didn´t really know kimchi in the mid 80s, did they?

I guess we´ll never know.

My brother and I used to play one one one hockey in our basement. He was bigger than me and loved to check me into the cinder block walls. Fucker!

We also used to have 4-on-4 hockey matches in the alleyway behind our houses. All of us had our own sticks. All of us black... and not in Minnesota.

I live in Wisconsin. I grew up around hockey players - BEFORE the days of face masks and mouth guards. I was a hockey cheerleader in high school.

The Kid wasn't a hockey player.

But I suspect in that household, there are a lot of unexpressed emotions that would cause someone to react like that. It's probably why people fight at funerals.
