ehhh, even Questlove wrote an emotional post after J Dilla died about how he and everyone else in that 90s/00s Soulquarian scene stole their sound/innovations from Dilla. Definitely the dude stole his drum patterns/"offbeat" drum style from there...

Used to think he was OK, but as time went on, I am not really a QL fan. Nothing to do with his recent post, more about his attitude towards others as I studied up on him. Really dont want to say more, just gets everyone riled up. Member what your mom said, "If you can't say anything nice........."

yeah, I saw people all made over the last few releases "I have had all this for years" (which is not true)... yeah I had most of it too and YES I get that I miss out on the NEW SONG experience (and if I am honest most of the ones I had not heard are not as good as some of the ones I had heard)

but we have ourselves to blame. (but it makes me worry that most of his stuff (through the 80s and early 90s) has leaked)

Exactly....he's just a big Prince/music nerd at the end of the day, like some of us here.

He once let me into a sold out Roots show because I was wearing a Prince t-shirt so he's cool in my book.

Quest is a clown.... fall back in line like the rest of us and realize you are not special in the Prince circle anymore. Conentrate on your house band and enjoy what P music you get/when you get... just like rest of us.
