You forgot to include a new version of Erotic City where they don't fuck up the intro, which they owe me.

Why is it so difficult to upload an avatar?

I'm fairly certain the transfer that was done for the vinly reissue a couple of years earlier is what was use for this remaster. They sync up perfectly when A/B'ed.

Rarely do I listen to the remastered versions of any of the Purple Rain tracks. Not going to beat this dead horse as well all know the problems with the mastering.
.
However, the disc of unreleased songs, dispite the odd inclusion of many tracks, is actually quite good imo.

As we all know, we have a God Vocal Version (4:02 mins) and an exceptional and long instrumnetal version (7:58).

I'd like a vocal version of the long version.

Now that would be amazing!!!

cool

What did the dropout sound like? Did it make it obvious it was a vinyl rip, or was it something else? Would like to see it with the speed and pitch of the 7" edit.

It sounds like a glitch, it's very obvious.

The 2015 remaster was literally Joshua Welton plus Pro Tools and plugins. Prince himself alluded to this way of remastering in an interview. It was a digital remaster directly from a CD rip, which is why there was no real remix from multitrack, hence the transition from "Computer Blue" to "Darling Nikki" being still audibly noticeable. Prince "oversaw" the project by listening and approving to the remasters and that's the reason for the brickwalling, but generally let Joshua do the work. I'm not able to discuss how I know this. I was told a short time after it was announced in 2017.

Most remixes aren't done from multitracks - they're done from the stereo master. Also, this appears to have been done from the remastered vinyls (also available on digital platforms), not the original CD.

But your main point is correct. It has no redeeming qualities.
