"My Name Is Prince: 25 Inspired Years — 1991 to 2016" by Randee St. Nicholas (Amistad Press, 19 November 2019)

There's a mention of Randee St. Nicholas's upcoming book "My Name Is Prince: 25 Inspired Years — 1991 to 2016" in the "Holiday Gift Guide" in the current issue of Publishers Weekly:

.

For 25 years, St. Nicholas, one ofHollywood’s most acclaimed photographers, worked closely with theenigmatic Prince, capturing some ofhis most intimate and revealingmoments both on and off stage. MyName Is Prince is an up-close look atthe artist featuring hundreds ofphotographs taken at his home, ontour, and on his many adventures around the world. Accompanying theimages are behind-the-scenes stories, and St. Nicholas’s personal insights onthe big and small moments she sharedwith Prince.

.

(Updated the title because I had the wrong release date.) (Updated with full title of the book.)

I'd like to see one from Justine Walpole that captures his last years. I'm expecting that one to be bittersweet sad

He was seductive. Everyone who worked with him for a length of time seemed to fall in love with him. Randee is one of them.

Jeff Katz is selling his stuff as separate limited prints. Very pricey. Check his FB page for more info if you are interested.

Has anyone bought this book? I'm thinking of buying it, but it's very pricey, so just curious if anyone here has purchased it and your thoughts. Thanks.

Many have, including me although Amazon did not deliver mine to my default address and instead, the address that was default when I preordered it last April.

Seven pounds and almost 400.pages. this is a serious book.

Friends who are going through it now are very positive.

Lots of lovely pics. And a few blurry/not so great ones as well (the Coachella chapter, for example). It seems she’s recycled some 21 Nights pics, but the Prince/Mayte chapter more than makes up for it. So many iconic moments she got to shoot. And the thing is MASSIVE. And as heavy as a cinder block. Definitely worth the $63 I paid.

You found the pics in The Beautiful Ones draw dropping? Randee has some of the sexiest pics of Prince I’ve seen. I love the book.

Yes. The never seen before photos of Prince as a child/teen and the candid photos were heart warming. Ran Dee's book does have beautiful polished photos, most of which we have seen before or they are alternate takes from photo shoots. Beautiful photos but very little of it was new. Worth buying but it didn't move me like the two books I mentioned.

I was a little disappointed with the book. Lots of pics are out of focus/blurry, not sure if that was intentional or what. Still some great shots, but not like looking at Jeff Katz photos, where every single one is gold.
