Well no, but Prince is one of the very few who would or could completely surprise me which was part of the thrill. Box of chocolates was the perfect description.

haha...I guess I should have said I buy music from many artists and bands biggrin I have dozens of favorite artists and I buy their music.Got so many CDs and vinyl that I need a storage room for them all, lol.

Yeah, I've had to really throttle my buying in recent years. It's just not worth it, and it's too much shit around the house. A CD or LP here and there, and I'm fine. I'm a bit of a miser these days.

Not at all. Prince is my favorite, but there's incredible new music out there today.

Recent obsessions include SZA's CTRL, Charli XCX's Charli, Roisin Murphy's recent singles, Robyn's Honey, Tyler the Creator's IGOR, etc.

No idea why Prince's death would impact the music I buy in general. I don't listen to music solely for Prince.

Sza is ok it was a process but I dug most of Ctrl but Robyn n Tyler jawns u said r really good. To answer question I haven't bought a CD since Janelle monae's latest n prolly won't anytime soon. Apart from being hella broke with many other more important expenses. I've taken to streaming. Shit it's (usually) free n no "guilt" πŸ˜›

Oh I can't even begin to explain how much I love CTRL (peep the username, lol). Even her previous EPs to me are just so fire. She reminds me of so many other artists, but is doing it entirely in her own lane. Hmm, quite reminiscent of P. I wish P had done more work with younger artists. Janelle Monae, Kendrick Lamar, and Lizzo are talented as hell (even Rita Ora is), but the list goes on. I hope there is something with him and FKA Twigs in the vaults since she was up at Paisley for a minute.

I played Ctrl again. Supermodel is just too gorgeous πŸ’”. The Weekend, Doves, Love Galore n Go Gina r dope too. Liked all of it really. Even peeped most of Z too. I'm seeing it now 😁. This girl that I used to work with tried to hip me to her also but I was fronting touched.
For all time I am with you, you are with me.

He's the only musician whose physical CDs I buy, but I do buy digitial downloads of other musicians' songs.

I absolutely buy more music besides Prince, although he is my number one.

I'm a massive fan Of Foals and Steven Wilson/Porcupine Tree. But I buy way more than this, new and older music. I just love to have a physical album in my hands, cd or Vinyl.

This Friday I'll receive the deluxe edition of the new Foals album "Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Pt.2". Man, I can't wait!!!!!!

Vannormal

-

Besides 90% of Prince and related releases ?

basically everything from:

- Ryuichi Sakamoto

- David Sylvian

- Cigarettes After Sex

- Nils Frahm

- Max Richter

- Nick Murply / Chat Faker

- Einaudi

- Brian Eno

and a couple of others

-

Besides all that,

loads of rock, soul, noise, minimal,

new artists

-

basically Prince is the only 'popular' artist i closely follow and spend (certainly not all my) money on.

No, Prince is not the only music I buy, although he is my top favorite, and leader in number of CD's I own by an artist. However, I own and have purchased a vast amount of music from other artists like Whitney Houston, Jeffrey Osbourne, Mariah Carey, The Winans, Luther Vandross, etc. I usually buy what I like, from artists I like, usually from the era I grew up listening to, or old school. I really haven't bought anything from today's artists, and don't expect to, because it just doesn't appeal to me.
