Chaos And Disorder LP mistake

Just picked up the vinyl reissue of Chaos And Disorder.

Oddly, the back cover shows Zannalee as the first track on Side B, but it's actually the last track on Side A.

Strange...

Discogs also lists it as the beginning of Side A.

Do I have a misprint or are all copies like this.

Mine was purchased at a local wrecka stow in Lexington, KY.

My copy is the same as yours, Zannalee is last track on side 1.

I brought mine in UK.

Of course Zannalee absolutely SHOULD be on Side A, as it is. If they had started Side B with it (and as the cover lists it), it would have been a nasty cut between Right The Wrong and Zannalee as they run together with no gap of silence between them.

I'm guessing somebody going by track times without listening to it might think it would work better that way, but it would have sounded bad.

I live in Spain and mine is the same as yours.

Cool. I'll assume they're all that way.

lol. All that 'loving restoration' of the artwork from orginal photos and they slap the wrong track listing over the top of it.

I remember back when it first came out in '96, the Databank Lyrics Transcription site stated that it was a "Beavis & Butthead" sample, but...
I dunno... it could be Prince just imitating Beavis. lol

Wow, I can't imagine a side break between Zannalee and I Rock, either; I always thought that was a great transition. Luckily I'm pretty firmly in the cd camp.

Yet another f'up by Michael Howe and his team!

Do people not do test pressings anymore?

During the production process many people are involved and not one person was willing to get off their ass and do their job properly.

I'd sack the lot of them - totally useless!

cool

When the first 3 purple vinyl reissues came out, I thought they were overpriced but decided to fork out for them anyway. When I opened them I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the product. A lot of thought had gone into replcating the original CD packaging in larger format - the flap on Musicology, the lenticular image on Planet Earth, the identically replicated spines - and the gatefold sleeves were produced from really high quality glossy card.

This Chaos and disorder reissue - a single LP with no special packaging selling for £38 in my local stow - does not look and feel like a premium product. The card is really flimsy, there's this mistake on the trackilsting, and the spine doesn't replicate the original CD (not a huge issue to me, but it does reinforce the feeling that less care went into this one than the first wave). It seems that they've used the quality of that first wave to justify the high prices, then now that the price point is set they're just knocking out crap as cheaply as they can.

Except that the important part - the music - sounds absolutely fantastic, better than it ever has. These Sony reissues have so far each been absolutely stellar, audio-wise. I agree that they're overpriced, but surely some credit must be given for finally making these albums available to listen to in a quality in which they were meant to be heard, no?

Well all vinyl at this point is overpriced BUT its not really going to change since most of the world streams and does not BUY music anymore. So printed this stuff is not cheap, and you in turn are paying for all that. What i do know in speaking with a local record store owner here in NYC, Chaos and Disorder was the one moving faster than the other two, surprising since "Versace" was never released though is really just excerpts and edits and Emancipation has all that other stuff, Chaos was the one he sold out of.

I hadn't listened to Chaos And Disorder in ages and played the new vinyl properly yesterday on my 'big' system.... Shit it sounds great!

Top quality pressing and man what a corker of an album... I know this album has a bad reputation, but I always really liked it and I was reminded why on a relisten. It still sounds fresh as paint - and actually covers a lot of ground for its 39 minutes.

Great little record.
