Ya know, with the advent of the "super deluxe series", they absolutely could, and I think will, drop this set on us. Purple Rain IS THE CASH COW, and they could butter this set up beyond belief. It would be a huge missed opportunity from a business perspective to not have this set. I would be shocked if it is not already in the works.

You know I haven't done an A/B comparison of the Purple Rain remaster to the original CD...

outside of loudness was there anything that really changed?

I've heard people here say they could hear things they'd never noticed before in the PP remaster. I don't think I can say the same, though I did listen to it only once the day it came out and never went back to it...

Only IF it was getting the treament like 1999 Deluxe.... seems WB really screwed the pooch with the 2017 release.

It was P overseeing the mastering by this band guy.

It was P wanting more money and thus stalling the release process.

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

were they in a "rush" to release it? also didnt they not have access to the vault ?
