Parade is the one that was rumoured to also be near completion, so I am guess Parade is next.

It would make sense. Because you can release a Parade concert (It will probably be the Birthday one) with it.

I am longing for the Sign O the Times deluxe!

I'm looking forward to a Parade one as well.

I am guessing they will make a combo pack Black Album with Lovesexy deluxe release (when they do those.

A super deluxe box set of "1999" would be nice to do next... With complete sessions and all outtakes... Packaged with a proper remaster of "Vanity 6" and "What Time Is It?"... But we all know we will never get proper releases like that and have to make due with half-assed releases...

Put up or shut up wink
We know a lot is missing but it is at least a little step in th e right direction. Maybe when the Estate is owned by the family they will listen to our wishes and do proper sets. Until then this is a great release.
My wish would be a "Controversy" super deluxe set, becuase that's when I got hooked on Prince.

They seemingly felt the need to leave the best material from that era off of the set...
Half assed and insulting cash grab and everyone is falling for it...

I heard all of the unreleased songs and both shows are among higher upper traders, so he probably has all of this set and more if he knows that they left of the best material.
He was the one last year who detailed about 'Jerk Out' and that it probably was the best track from this era among some other songs that shouls be on this set.

Parade Sessions, SOTT sessions or just start from the start, are we honestly trying to argue that he doesn't deserve a chronological release?

Woah there, who is "everyone" here? How are we supposed to know what is or is not the best material? I appreciate your posts on here a lot but it's not like I know anything beyond what you tell us.

Work outward from Purple Rain, in alternating directions each time. So:

  1. Around the World in a Day
  2. Controversy
  3. Parade
  4. Dirty Mind
  5. Sign o' the times
  6. Prince
  7. Lovesexy
  8. For You, and then chronologically from Batman on...

I like this. Two/three a year would seem reasonable.

I suspect that Jerk Out is being held back for Originals vol 2 which I would be surprised if they weren't considering one.

PURPLEIZED3121

in all honesty feel it's now the perfect time for the newer stuff to be released ie Black is the New Black - imagine there are a lot of extras, video footage, etc.

But if it's the older stuff the ONLY one I want is Lovesexy - there's so much stuff either side of that out on bootleg BUT this was the final album / tour of his golden age & deserves mega treatment.

Christ a box set of DVD / Audio of aftershows will be enough!!!

Combined with DVD's if they were shot.

It has to be Sign 'O' The Times. And I'm happy for them to pull out all the stops. Make it as expansive and ridiculous as possible. Include Dream Factory tracks, The Dawn musical tracks, Camille tracks, Crystal Ball tracks, heck even stick the Flesh sessions on there if they must. I wouldn't even care if they omit any live material, just give me as many out takes as possible.

I'm with you 100%.

Was Roadhouse Garden also from that time period?

Hi Lurker

.

If you're talking about the song Roadhouse Garden, I believe that was recorded in the period between the Purple Rain album being complete and it's release. Hence it being considered a Purple Rain era track.

.

However, if you're talking about the Roadhouse Garden album that Prince was considering releasing around 1998/1999, that was meant to be a compilation of Revolution era tracks that spanned between Purple Rain and Dream Factory, so 1983-1986.

.

Since some of the songs rumoured to have been included on RG were Our Destiny, Roadhouse Garden & Wonderful Ass it’s unlikely to come out now since those came out on Purple Rain deluxe.

.

These new Super deluxe editions will probably cover everything considered for Roadhouse eventually.

I'd like a Deliverance deluxe expanded set. It's been the most interesting of the posthumous releases this far. Why not expand on that?

RODSERLING

The best selling catalogue album, behind PR and 1999 of course, is, surprisingly, the eponymous album of 1979. So, if the logic is still to release the best popular albums, Prince is a good contender.
.
Moreover On Spotify, I wanna be your lover has 3 times more streams than the best streamed track from SOTT.
.
You can also take into account the fact that WB will "lose" some rights from Prince (1979) or SOTT in 2021, but will keep the soundtracks such as Parade
