Nah, I think Come On was just another one of his light and funky tunes that he had fun with by creating that old man disguise and doing a video in London. Manuela was there because she was working at PP then. * Now, Madrid 2 Chicago?? I believe Prince was talking about Mayte stepping out and her girlfriends influencing her. There were several stories of how Prince would keep tabs on Mayte's weight and such. __________________________________________________

You say you already ate” is NOT about real food or someone’s weight - notice that line comes directly after him singing about the girl thinking about her girlfriend who has never been straight. He’s referring to another type of “eating” or “ate” - the kind that happens between two girls
* He and Mayte were still more than a year away from separating when he wrote and recorded this song. She wood not have been “running around with young ass fools” -as he sings it - during that time. He is definitely singing about a girl or girls that he wants to be with who is/are dating younger guys. Completely makes sense as he was always going after much younger women who would be dating younger men. By then, Mayte was an old lady at 25 based on his typical preference 
* Look up the lyrics to Madrid 2 Chicago. Now THAT song is absolutely about Prince cheating on Mayte while she was living in Spain - either with Manuela or someone else. Prince is talking about the flight he would take from Spain back to MN and he’s VERY specific about exactly what was on his mind [Edited 10/22/19 13:47pm] | |

Most of his songs were “telling”, because he wrote honestly about his life. However, he often used creative lyrics to tell the story which people interpret in various ways. You have hit it dead center with this comment, sis. Some people will never "get it", and when I listen to the music he created I am like.....well there it is, can't you hear what he was sayin'? Almost like we are on the Farenheit scale , and they are stuck on Celcius or something. Ah well, he knew some of us with there with him, and that is really all he cared about. No question that his lyrics were often tricky, and he loved to twist and play with words and phrases, but those who can read between the lines/lyrics usually get his message and meaning. I think he certainly got a kick out of how fans interpreted the songs when they were completely wrong | |
