This is something I'm curious about. So we know that a finished vinyl record of the album was pressed. This means the finished album must have been mixed, sent presumably to Bernie Grundman for mastering, and then a record was pressed, complete with a Paisley Park label especially designed for this album.

Now here are my questions. If you're going to go to all that effort, why just press one record? If an artist only needed one wouldn't they have made an acetate copy rather than a finished vinyl?

And if only one record was pressed, how the hell did it end up in the hands of Karen Krattinger who, according to Rolling Stones magazine, worked for Prince as a production coordinator on his tours and a road manager?

I'm convinced the copy that was sold at auction isn't a one off. There are probably a few more presses out there under lock and key. Whether they'll ever see the light of day remains to be seen.

It wasn't the only known official vinyl.
When that auction was put up and the pictures of the album surfaced alot of gasps were heard in Princefandom here in Holland because in the 90's there was a big record fair in Utrecht's Prins van Oranje hall where this album along with the original peach cloud guitar was on display (not for sale) and people assumed teh vinyl was a fake/bootleg (so did I) and when it surfaced 2 decades later in that auction people were going nuts. We eventually found out who the vinyl belonged to and lend it for display there at the record fair (the owner of it is on here) now we only need to find the owner of the peach cloud guitar or maybe it's the same owner but I doubt it because I think we would haveknown by now then

Wasn't there another auction with another copy of the Camille test pressing? I remember that almost a year later, another auction also had it, but not from Karen Kratinger (she was the owner of the first) but from someone else in the Paisley Park organisation. I forget the name.

I also remember hating the fact that I have been dead broke during the entire time. Or maybe not broke, but making only just enough to get by.
