Wish people could realize that the majority of the concerts recorded were recorded on video tape so they can never be released in HD. Only a handful of Prince concerts were shot on film. Film's the only thing that can be remastered into HD.

The people here are correct in requesting the 1986 Birthday show footage to be released onto a BluRay... Becuase it was shot on film. I don't know what the exact specs of a decent quality 16mm film scan compressed for a BluRay would be, but I'm quite sure they could cram something like the Le Zenitth 86 or London 86 w/Ron Wood show onto there since I believe both were shot to Umatic tape...

I wish somehow Michael Howe will see this thread and that he will ask The Revolution, Susannah etc... for help.

Damn, Old Friends 4 Sale(one of my favorite P joints EVER!) I love this lineup for the Dream Factory album!!! Dorothy Parker, IT, and Dream Factory on side 1! Strange Relationship, In A Large Room, and Sexual Suicide on side 2! CRYSTAL BALL on side III, with Power Fantastic! Last Heart, into Witness(hopefully the rock version), Movie Star and ALL MY DREAMS!

Damn! That's a heaven of a lineup!!! I'd pay for that version, if they put some other unreleased killer tracks as a side 5 and 6!

When I put this together to listen for the first time I cried

This flow is perfection. Hearing Crystal Ball followed by Power Fantastic, that is a mind f^&k by itself.
Dream Factory and Camille released in 1987 would have been a game changer.

I'm greedy as hell! Just think if we had Dream Factory and Camille...and a fully orchestrated version of Sometimes It Snows.

There's a lot the Estate has to do to please us...

Free the damn music, already. I'd probably buy the shit on vinyl just to have something to fawn over like the old days.

Personally rather than a Parade Deluxe I would rather see a comprehensive 1985/1986 set.

The reviews for originals were glowing, imagine the reviews for this period.

I truly believe that the Unreleased material by Prince from this period is some of the greatest pop music ever created.

Interesting idea!

How large would this set need to be?

And how to convince the Michael Howe types? (in there to downplay the value of the Vault)

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

If you want my two cents, there are three known configurations of Dream Factory, all of which offer something unique. For example, version 1 had 'Big Tall Wall', version 2 had 'In a Large Room With No Lights' and version 3 had 'Train'. The final known version dropped classics like 'Sexual Suicide' and 'It's a Wonderful Day'. Rather than the estate release 'Dream Factory' as a single configuration, I think I'd prefer 'The Dream Factory Sessions'. I'm sure all of the Dream Factory era tracks (all the ones that made a configuration plus some bonus gems) would fit comfortably on 2 CDs. As such this would not be too expensive to manufacture (compared to something like Purple Rain Deluxe) and would cover many sought after outtakes to keep the fans happy.

.

As for the Camille album, the day 'Rebirth of the Flesh' is released in crystal clear studio quality (as part of any release) will likely be the happiest day of my life (outside of the birth of my children).

the full 60 minute version of junk music is pretty enjoyable .. i don't think a couple of miles fits the flesh sessions at all .. i would much rather gotta shake something be on a flesh double vinyl single cd release for record store day .. of course a cassette would be great too

I fully agree with this. A bonus disc of alternate mixes would be nice, for any of the repeating songs that changed between Dream Factory and SOTT. As long as everything is uniformly mixed/mastered, people can put the tracks into any configuration their hearts desire and everyone will be happy.

Several different configurations? As long as each version has some different songs for each, I'd pay for that baby! I hope the Estate is paying attention to these posts. Hurry up already, damn it!

It would be fantastic. I think there is a logical way of sequencing such an album as Prince was pretty consistent in which songs he wanted grouped together, even if he did switch some songs around.

This is how I would do it. I think this works really well...

Interesting chart, VaultCurator! Some of us look like we went to school and got our bachelor degree in Prince, minor in Musicology!

Charts, tables...all sorts of stuff! Ha...

How many threads were made about this?
That and the "Was Emancipation 1,2 or 3 cd too long?"
How boring.

Yeah I honestly wouldn’t care. I’m sure there’s a couple from each tour that we’re recorded in case of release.
