I just dropped sixty bucks on a release by Eye. I would have rather given that money to the Estate. I gave it to the person that sold me the Eye release.

Speaking of the estate...from a blind reveal abour Prince on a US gossip site today...(cdan.com)

July 14, 2019

The recording industry is colluding to lower sales and the value of the estate of this permanent A+ list singer. They want to make things look as if there is very little value so they can convince the heirs to sell everything at a discount

This is not gossip.

This is truth.

This is why two heir advisors were banned from accessing digital Estate records.

It could explain the poor quality of the relases, (not counting `deluxe` materials), lack of box sets, etc.

If it is something really cool, I'll pay for it. I like digital copies of music as much as the next guy, but there are some titles that I like having physical copies of.

Sharon's attorney appears to be a real estate and contract attorney, and has only been out of law school for 4 years.

Maybe Prince knew what he was doing by not having a will or trust or similar final document. In this way, the family he had essentially no relationship with would not receive his fortune automatically. If they get anything, it will be after years of struggle. Sort of a "take that, you greedy so and sos."

Yep. Now you are on to something, 'cause if he wanted a truly well organizzed will that covered everything, he could have had one. Let the wild dogs push & shove for their smaller portion of the wealth. He knew the lawyers would extract their large amounts of bank to settle the whole thing!

Would you really call Prince a singer? I'd call him a musician or artist. To me singer implies someone who doesn't play an instrument.

Almost has me wondering if he spent sooooo much time fighting to get his records back, why wouldnt he have a will for them. Cause Ruth his former assistant on Questlove Supreme podcast said they talked about it...with Mathieu Biton and Duane Tudahl as the other guests.

Crazy to think this thread is at part 21. So ugly whats going on

We dont know what is going on...they figured out we were reading the pleadings, and now when they file documents in probate court, the documents have been heavily redacted.

Is it ok if I do not care if the heirs get anything?
I only care Prince’s legacy is protected and his music is handled by people who care beyond $$$.
I bet dollars to donuts if there ever was a will, the cash not need to keep Prince’s flowing and PP open would have gone to
Charity.

I'm curious how much of this dismissal/filing activity is initiated by family members (you know, the ones who tried to get a cut of the inheritance by claiming Prince was their brother but testing said nope lol whistling ) vs Alfred himself. I can't recall what his mental status is but I do know he was living in a gov facility at one time.

.

Thanks for a good laugh, I needed that.

.

Spend 40 years building a multi-million dollar, mini-empire in the music biz, then die intestate.

.

Get labelled a genius.

.

They oughtta round up all the Prince "fams" and banish them to an uninhabited island somewhere, so they can spend the rest of their existance carrying on nonsensically about things they no nothing about. What a miserable "fambase" this man cultivated.

I’ve been informed that my opinion is worth less than those expressed by others here.

Oh please, he did ZILCH.

.

Dude sics his lawyers on fan sites for posting pics of people having tattoos of his symbol, but did NOTHING to Warners. Hell, Warners was extremely courtious to him in 1996 and post-contract, by taking into account his wishes WRT contents of compilations and even delaying releases.

.

Prince did ZILCH because there was NOTHING to be done. His contract wasn't "slavery" or whatever BS he constantly repeated.

.

Hell, after he obviously sabotaged the PR remaster, Warners still didn't do shit to him.

I wonder how money they wasted in lawyers fort that stupid shit? Honestly, the medical center tried to help and Prince refused. How did they think that was the money to chase...

Is correct to think that these things are driven by the "heirs"?

The Estate is not pursuing this lawsuit, the siblings are individually.

Also, it is a "personal injury" case. Attorneys usually take 1/3 of the settlement or judgment so there are no ongoing attorney fees.

As an RN myself, it makes me incredibly angry that the MD, RN and Pharmacist (At Trinity Med Ctr), were also sued when they did all they could.
