Very unlikely, I see no reason why.

However there is the mystery of Are You My Baby? and that instrumental sometimes titled Pickle that appears to be a genuine Prince outtake and that shares its fundations with Are You My Baby?. It's possible Are You My Baby? was based on that track Prince sent to W&L and this is what BigChick believes, but it's still a bit unclear what happened and how. Neversin do you know anything about this?

If you mean that "Tickle my Pickle" thing, I believe it to be 100% fake, it doesn't even remotely sound like Prince or anything he would do...
The backing track is probably lifted from the instrumental promo of the "Are You My Baby?"...

Neversin.

Yes, I always thought AYMB and other tracks from Fruit at the Bottom (1989) closely resembled Prince's sound years after W&L had left the camp. Jesse is clearly on Satisfation.

Also, W&L's look for marketing their 1989 album (as seen on the cover) was very close to the look Madonna was sporting at Like A Prayer's kick off, also in 1989.

We saw during our tour of Paisley -- Prince had a framed platinum or gold copy of Like A Prayer hanging on the wall. Seems like he might have been proud of more than just playing guitar. Perhaps there was a lot of creative overlap happening there.

PrinceVault claims to have detailson Pickle.

Very simple explaination to this, as explained by W&L themselves in interviews: after the first album sold modestly, the label pressured them to "sound more like Prince" in hopes of higher sales. Hell, they'd signed them because they came from P's camp, hadn't they? They weren't too happy with this but they needed their record deal so they tried to play by the rules. Mark said the exact same thing happened to him with his second solo album. I guess most artist originating from the Prince camp had that problem at the time. As for the marketing, well... Madonna was THE reference in, terms of female pop star in 1989, so...

.

We saw during our tour of Paisley -- Prince had a framed platinum or gold copy of Like A Prayer hanging on the wall. Seems like he might have been proud of more than just playing guitar. Perhaps there was a lot of creative overlap happening there.

Again very simple explaination to that: it is (or at least was) the norm in the recording industry to send anyone involved in writing (and probably producing) a record a copy of any gold or platinum award for said record. Typically, David Henry Hwang explained he got a gold album award for Come just because he'd co-written Solo. Prince co-composed Love Song on LAP, so he just got the RIAA certification as did everyone else involved. I must add to that that the making of LAP, being an important record as it was, has been documented to death. No big mystery there.

.

PrinceVault claims to have detailson Pickle.

The problem is no one is sure which instrumental they're talking about (if they know themselves, they don't have a copy of every documented song, and they don't give the length of the unreleased tracks so sometimes things get confusing) and whether it's the one that sounds like AYMB or another one in circulation that IIRC was also titled Pickle on some bootlegs, or yet another one. We discussed it back in the days and no one could come to any definitive conclusion about it. Neversin himself says he's convinced that the ARMB instrumental is a fake, and it might be, but we still don't have definitive evidence.

The release of Originals completes the Estate's obligations to Tidal. Michael Howe said that there could be Originals Vol. 2 if the first does well enough. If there is a Vol. 2, I'd imagine it will be a Warner Bros album. As to what could be on Vol 2, Tidal has a "Written By: Prince" playlist. Here's the songs on it that aren't on Originals. Nasty Girl 777-9311 Get It Up How Come You DOn't Call Me Love Song Sugar Walls A Love Bizarre Yo Mister Jerk Out Stand Back Why Should I Love You? With This Tear 2gether 101 The Belle Of St. Mark The Bird He's Mine

it would be really weird hearing him sing some of those song, especially the one strongly female driven. Not that I don't think it's wickedly twisted in a good way hearing.

Nasty Girl, Sugar Walls,
.
The Belle of St Mark would be interesting, because it's already twisted hearing Sheila E sing about a Belle(female) yet using male expressions ie him, he. So Prince being 'In Love with the Belle of St Mark" if he is using she, her etc would be cool.

.

I think Morris Day delivered better than Prince on Gigolos and Jungle Love, I think I would want to hear Prince on one that might give us more of something to the song. I Don't Want 2 Leave U, My Stick, Ice Cream Castles(if these have a Prince version) and IC since Morris Day said it was sorta important to Prince with a Joni Mitchell connection.

.

Stand Back is a Stevie Nicks song that Prince played on

I'd buy it.

My concerns and preconceptions about Originals have mostly gone away with each listen. I am just really enjoying this set!

Sound issues aside, Frankenstein mixes aside, ethics aside, it's just really nice to hear Prince singing on these tracks! Plus, it's just nice having Prince buzz in the media again.

I am still anxiously awaiting NEW music though.
