Correct as he started doing Jungle Love, Cool, Dance Electric, Love They Will Be Done,Elixer, All This Love, Mutin, Holly Rock, Glamorus Life and plenty others live in his final years so you are right.

Probably wrong given that it was pretty rare for him to spend so much time on it.
Also, Peggy McCreary and otherengineers, as stated in Duane Tudahl's PR Sessions book and in previous Susan Rogers interviews, mention that Prince "was ecstatic when he finished it. He knew that was it".

Given PR is the album Prince worked on the longer, he sure had a clue that it would at least work very well. Keep in mind the 1999 (and LRC as a single) pre-effect. He was not dumb.

You caught on the WDC thing, I am wrong. I actually had just read a Susan Rogers interview the day I posted this, which makes my post a little comical...so yep, I'm wrong... Not the first time, was just making a point that despite being the most brilliant songwriter of all time, he consistently let total garbage get released without knowing it was garbage. He became surrounded with yes men, but still continuted to release some great stuff.

We are all spending our lives dying. Prince appeared to be alive enough to mention the vault in interviews with a care free attitude. If he was worried about what was done to the recordings, he would have done something. It's just comical to me that anyone without serious mental problems think Prince was preoccupied with the fate of the vault. Some of the tapes were found rotting, he did not live in the past in his studio creations. Now live, he lived in the past, but that's another discussion. Nah.. he was actively making plans as late as 2012/2013/2014 with me about the future of the vault. He ended up piggybacking that plan into what became AOA and the Tidal deal. Not sure what ever happened to the vault plan, but he told me he had done something about it and not to worry.

For something like this, it hardly matters. If the poster was Kirk Johnson or the "Lovesex is my Jam" girl, who knows? Prince had some concrete plans, some iffy plans, and some WTF plans. He changed his mind at the drop of a Tony M rap. Since songs like Large Room, Xtralovable, 1000 X's etc...were re-recorded, it does somewhat go with what funksterr is saying, but no telling how much of his recent output was old or not, we would only know if it was a known old vault item.

Sure, it would be great to know the origins of every track, but even when he was alive, we can only speculate. Did Morris REALLY write Partyup? Who cares? The song is overrated smile

I tend to think Prince was fairly careless in regard to the vault...no clear instructions, no Will, no CONtract.

Yes, but now we have the CONcern about what is happening with the music, with the non-excluded heirs litigating CONtra each other...

The resulting CONfusion is CONtagious and leads to a bank leding the decisions on what CONstrues a viable release strategy.

CONtact with the Michaels and WBs in this world is of course frowned upon. Arrogance and other issues are posed CONtrary to reality.

The vault is a crapshoot. It is worth everything to me, but the powers that be want to get income from it at all costs, but lackluster sales from lackluster releases may put it in danger. I wish a group of superfans would simply buy it, not only so we all can hear it, but so that it can be mastered at correct volumes, and not let it al be a victim of the loudness war.
